2021 pick 6 + 2022 pick 5 + 2022 pick 14
for
Jason Horne-Francis + 2022 pick 38

Everything is easy with hindsight and don't want to rub it in but if that really was the final offer from the Crows on the table then turning that down is gonna sting for a very long time. Won't get an offer half as good as that one year later.
Ward, Cadman, Busslinger. Spine set for 10 years....

Matt Rendell is such a twat. Nothing specific, he is just an old rambling out of touch man.

I agree. Listened to him today and he is so unprepared, can’t remember specifics, gets basic stuff wrong and repeats himself. And I understand it may be a medical issue, but the clearing of his throat is not good for radio!

With Dunks coming in the most likely player out is Lyons would a club look at him for a late pick and free up some cash for Bowes
Geelong. Lyons an instant replacement for Selwood for the next 2 years. On less money than Selwood, so a bit spare to put towards the Bowes salary.

I just cannot believe that Geelong can bring in everyone and everything and STILL have a cool $X thousands of dollars sitting there for Bowes.

Gotta love those Dogs supporters who've seen what Richmond coughed up for Taranto ad are now rubbing their hands in anticipation. No way is Taranto worth that. Pick 12 on it's own is probably about right. I'd be dirty if I was a Richmond supporter.

12 on its own definitely seems like unders. I don't reckon what they paid is too far off, probably slight overs. I definitely wouldn't be too upset as a Richmond supporter.

Maybe with some later pick jiggery-pokery it would balance out. Taranto can find the ball, but a lot of his disposal are just hack kicks from what I've seen. dlanod may have a better read than I.

could gws present themselves as a good option to trade for points with after all the picks they are going to receive during trade week?

surely wont have the list spots to use their later picks
The Suns would be good as well, as the points/picks currently stand >

Our pick 15 - 1,112 points.

For Suns picks 25, 32, 44 - 1,702 points... if they throw in 54 as well - 1,922 points.

Just as an example, I would be looking for a deal similar to what West Coast my end up with.

26 + 27 + 39 for 15.

Gives us a ~570 points upgrade.

With the McStay compensation, we’ll end up with something like; 26, 27, 34, 35, 40.

We trade 46 to Hawks for Gunston and a future 4th round pick (or a potential late 3rd round pick, depending on what the Hawks get in during the trade period).

Wild play that will never happen.

We apparently just offered $500k or so to get Gunston. And somehow had a possibility of getting Bowes.

Tom Hawkins is an UFA. Why not offer him $700k for 2 season instead? If he really is on 200-300k that would be a godfather offer…

Yes but his property portfolio....

Roo's overpaying for kids as well.

Horne Francis’s teammate Tarryn Thomas endured a similarly turbulent year but the Herald Sun understands at this point he is unlikely to request a trade away from the Roos.
Gold Coast is interested in Thomas, a former No.8 draft pick, but he is contracted for the next two years on as much as $700,000 a season.
Clubs including Sydney, where he has close family, expressed interest over the season and see him as a player of immense value.
But his salary and the difficulty in extracting him from Arden Street means he is more likely to remain despite his challenging year and openness to a fresh start.

Something does not gel with this trade. Two firsts is way, way over for Taranto, there must be another part to the trade that has not been reported or it is still coming with the Hopper trade. Surely there's some second round picks coming the other way. It would be interesting to see how the Hopper trade goes down and the totality of the GWS/Richmond exchange takes shape.

It's not two firsts. It's a first and a second.

OK stand to be corrected, it does not change the fact that 12 and 19 is overs. I still believe there is another part/s to this trade that is yet to surface. Perhaps once Hopper trade is finalised it may all emerge.

If Richmond aren't trading out any players to get more picks in, the only picks they have left, worth any value and that they are allowed to trade are pick 31 this year and their future first.
