Crows did it pretty easy for most of the day, 12 goals to 4 at half time and then then the scoreboard went on the blink after half time
Cook was very good but I don't know why we are playing half back, just wasting his talent down there spoiling forwards. Is able to find space and time and has great disposal
Nank playing back pocket and doing kick outs, another waste down back
O'Laughlin looked good in the other back pocket and has neat disposal coming out of defence.
TT dominated and too good for this level. Hopefully gets some confidence out of this game, he was huge with lots of contested marks up forward and around the ground. But needs to improve his ruck work.
Sholl classy and just keeps racking them up and getting goals and goal assists. Should be playing AFL
Zac taylor impressive with his clearances and disposal.
Centre clearance gameplan a lot better with looking for spread and a clear kick into the forward line, instead of the hack panic kick over the shoulder.
Jones still cant find the ball playing wing even in the sanfl. Compare him to Sholl and it's like chalk and cheese. I thought they should have tried him in the centre square a bit more but was always wing.
McHenry fumbly although generally kicked nicely
Gollant found the right spots but dropped some easy marks but still damaging and kicked some goals
Madgen out of full forward was a surprise
Newchurch was able to find space and time in the forward line
Parnell was quiet.
Hamill just has no game awareness in tight, just runs into trouble all the time even though he offers some run and carry
Keane looks good
We are looking to handball and kick forward a lot more and look a lot more dangerous than with the backwards handball.
Our kicking skills generally were pretty good and improved from last year
I would like to see Jones, McHenry and Murphy rotate through the midfield and centre square more than they do because they are getting delisted soon playing their current roles

Like all u said max but I hope you we’re taking the pi55 when you said Parnell was quiet

Bit hard to play well when relaxing in the hotel in west Sydney

Cook at half back certainly makes sense. Also the days of half backs being there to "spoil forwards" are about as dead as the days of key forwards not leaving the goal square. It's an offensive position first and foremost. Quite possibly the most important one alongside inside mid.

Plus, it's probably the easiest spot to win at the moment if he can intercept. Seeing the forward line is already crowded and wing seems a no-go with Sloane, Hinge and a pair of developing inside mids in Soligo and eventually Taylor.

Nank is probably in the same boat with the backline, though I'm a bit mystified they're not throwing him in the middle. That's a kid that can still benefit from the twos.

Good win by the boys today

Thilthorpe outstanding after half time. He took mark after mark - contested and on the lead. Kicked at least 4. Needs to work on rucking but his follow up work in the middle was fantastic

Taylor was terrific in the middle. Lots of quick handballs to get us moving Great decision maker and good in heavy traffic. Set up a number of goals with his astute field kicking

Borlase played his best game for many matches. Strong marks and good -either in the ruck or in defence

Scholl was excellent on the wing. Used the ball well and was much harder at the contest. He has been very consistent all year
Can you start wearing a go pro as footage is the only thing missing to your commentary of trainings and trials which has been great and much appreciated

My phone gave up about the same time as our players 🙄. Very meh second half after a fantastic first half (12 goals to 4). Partly due to greater game time for top ups in the second half.

Three players put their hand up for AFL.
1) Thilthorpe; way too good for SANFL. He was really clunking his marks and his kicking was superb.
2) Zac Taylor; he did it all. Clearances, tackles, goal assists and goals. Our other inside mids were top ups so it was not an easy assignment.
3) Sholl; Ran and ran and ran. Heaps of possessions and used the ball very well.

Good games from Borlase, Keane, Gollant, Murphy and McHenry.

Hamill, Bond, Jones, Nankavil and Newchurch had mixed days. Chayce once again broke the world record for metres run per disposal. He does some excellent team stuff but he needs to get more of the ball/get greedier.

Key moment in the second half was when Ned copped a slap to the head. He ran off and then marched up and down the boundary line declaring “I’m OK, not concussed, blah, blah blah.” The doctor didn’t seem convinced but the trainers seemed to say “Don’t worry doc, Ned is always a bit different”.

Some good news; Dowling, Crouch, Hately, Worrell, Strachan and McPherson showed no obvious signs of injury.

Final score when I left, late in the last quarter; zero dogs, zero people, possibly a couple of magpies on Kings Reserve.

I saw this little #11 running around and presumed it was him. Obviously not then :drunk:
No wonder he was quiet :D

Football has been pushing towards prioritising more skill and damage out of the backline for a long time, with no signs of slowing down. Plus, it's probably the easiest spot to win at the moment if he can intercept. Seeing the forward line is already crowded and wing seems a no-go with Sloane, Hinge and a pair of developing inside mids in Soligo and eventually Taylor.

Cook at half back makes no sense at all.
Half Backs spoiling is there #1 job when the ball goes to their opponent in the air.
Yes, his offense is very good but to say a backmans main role is an offensive position is just ridiculous

Pretty strong result considering all our outs..

Mcrouch being the main one..

then Strawnie who always dominates in the ruck and around the ground.

that’s two massive outs..

if we didnt have GWS in Sydney tomoz we’d have had Parnell in there too..

sounds like our top up’s did alright anyway..
