Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

With the way it’s going with trading for anyone 195cm+, you’d think Curtin has more value than Reid. Plus, our young midfield has quite some depth already.
It's a funny one. Without giving away anything all four players we're looking at for our pick have their own upsides. In no order:

Watson has the weapons to slot right in from round one and whilst he may not improve (his defensive pressure will) the weapons he has spell AFL career.
Curtin could be a senior player early on and has tremendous upside in that he plays back & forward and through the middle. Loves the contest and body-work and really attacks the ball.
Duursma probably wouldn't play much seniors in 2024 but is one of the most complete talls in a while. Has all the weapons to dominate the game in a few years.
McKercher would slot straight in from round 1 and probably stay there such is his skillset. Has speed, finds space and has a laser left foot.

We rate all four very highly and a cut above the next tier which is why we've said we definitely wont trade down. All of these players spell 200-game careers and one of them will be ours.
All I'll say right now is that the pertinent staff here have pretty much united behind one of them. Things could change if pick deals are done or minds change because we're still just under two weeks away but at the moment we're confident we're getting our man.

seems inevitable we end up with the wiz but who knows what those morons at North Melbourne will do?

This sounds like Curtin to me

Any chance Curtin becomes a jet CHF?
He is excellent behind the ball though. Has the height and athleticism to compete with pretty much any size frwd. He doesn't mind been the receiver either, using his game awareness to find teammates in good space. I don't think he's shown all these traits as a frwd but someone with better knowledge than me can elaborate.

Thanks for continuing to post KL despite what some clowns say.

My gut feel says Curtin.

Wasn't there question marks over his pace, or am I dreaming on that?

At the point he's being rated best from the West in 10 years I find it hard to believe that was ever the case.

If that last point is true, he's got to be a clear pick 2 almost.

The thing I like most about Curtin is his leadership. Not sure what he's like behind the scenes but on field he takes charge and I can't remember him playing a poor game when it mattered most. If anything he excelled.

He put his hand up to man Walters in the champs and arguably is the only defender who really nullified him.

The thing I like best is the Rex Hunt possibilities every time he seals a victory.
