Such a pity Alix Tauru didn't qualify for stage 2 of our NGA

It's such a pity that both Tauru + Moraes don't fully qualify for the 2nd stage of our NGA. With the new NGA rules coming in you could only imagine how up in arms the rest of the clubs would be 😂
Moraes sliding to 28 in Cal's mock draft.

We may take him with our 2nd anyway.

Once again, my very vibes based attitude towards the draft really draws me to these names:
  1. Jagga Smith
  2. Leo Lombard
  3. Tobie Travaglia
  4. Alixzander Tauru
  5. Jaxon Artemis
  6. Malakai Champion
The last two in particular sound like cheesy fantasy heroes. It'd be criminal to not make it with names like those.
I like the sound of Malakai Champion. Much better than Thomas Clanger and Jason Delistedwithouteverplayingagame.

Zak Johnson with our second is a player who excites me. Dynamic mid.

Oliver Hannaford is a quality small forward. Quick, reliable user, and applies defensive pressure. Not a need but for best available he'd be up there.

Thomas Sims / Harry O'Farrell potentially available. Sims is a contested marking KPF whose marking is his one wood. O'Farrell a low production but quality lockdown defender who has struggled managing an injury.

Yes there are definitely good potentials for our second pick and would love to get into the third round as well as expect some slide. I suspect we could land one of the talls with pies 2nd you mention although would love Gerryn but doubt he gets too our pick. Davo has Zak Johnson in the 50s that would be some get!

So who do we like that may be available at our current pick 33? I'd like a tall forward such as Gerreyn, Barrat, Sims, Nicholls or Burmeister.
Had posted the below pic in the trade thread, gives an indication of talent likely to be there around our pick which should slide to 35-37 as 4 picks should get inserted before our pick.

Going by few mock drafts the likes of Faull, O'Farell, Sims, Mraz, Gerreyn etc should be available there

Along with pick 33 I think we could potentially trade Carlton’s future first for one Richmonds picks 18,20,23 & 24.
for those picks just F1 should suffice and as you go later, ask tigers to add something back.

Look at the 2025 ladder predictions. Many have tigers outside the 8. So I would say
1. pick 10-15 straight trades canvassed and may include 33 if the other team can give a later pick back,
2. 15-20, the other team should give a pick back and our 33 may be included based on pick coming back
3. 20+ other team should give a decent pick back for F1, 33 not included

I like them both a lot, however i think that they'll be off the table by the time we take our selection at pick 33.
Moraes will be gone but Mraz is taken at mid-40's in many Phantoms, so will surely be there at 33.

I can't get away from Tom Gross. I think he would be a steal in the 20s.

Faull and Sims I like as second round tall forwards where we need talent.

Day Wicks, Jaques and Ivisic late.

Sorry mate the live trading premium is high. It we are looking for a late first early second it will cost 33 and either the f1 or f2 depending how late it is especially as we would need an f3 back. I would do 33 and f1 for swans 19 or 22 and f3 if the player we really want has slidden down. With 2 years of future pick trading everyone needs to get on the dees train and just trade future assets into the now as a never ending strategy.

Please god I hope we don’t do something like that. We should sit patiently and hold the blues picks for next year. Blues have lost depth and their game plan is very questionable. Their future 1 is a very valuable piece. 33 and Anderson is a nice draft haul where we take a couple of kids that won’t play next year but let’s be honest our list is stacked so we could have a top 10 pick and they may not play. Hope we hold and death ride the blues.

I get that but my guide is for trades till start of draft.

On draft night if someone we rate real high like Weddle has slipped on draft night, then I would do trades like you suggested but again following the guide I gave. Increase offer price if they don't fold.

There already are a few clubs like the saints/Tigers etc looking to trade out their later picks if their target is gone. If we put word out prior to draft we will get approached as the night goes as well. So doesn't have to be a overs trade because we approached first.

33 should come in a bit with the suns and lions academy players.
I don't think it will. The first thing that happens is a new pick is added to the draft which puts it back to 34 already and not heaps of the picks before that are with bid-matching teams. The ones that are there are at huge risk of further trading back as well IMO.

EDIT: but the good news is our picks in the 70s might end up being closer to 50s picks when they're taken 🤷‍♂️

Yeah very few matching picks will be before 33 so it’s likely to slide to close to 40 hence why I would be open to trade in for the right player further up with the blues f1.

You need a 2025 1st round pick to future trade 2026 and 2027 1st round picks ?
