List Mgmt. 2023 AFL Draft

Two small pressure forwards is too much like McEntee for my liking. All small forwards these days should be able to apply defensive pressure anyway.
There's a major difference between these guys and McEntee. They are two small pressure forwards.

Jed McEntee is a midfielder who showed a propensity for tackling, who is being played as a small pressure forward.

Possible Maggies Team:

Visentini Scully Charleson

Evans Lord Anastopolous

Burgoyne Mead Lorenz

McCallum Clurey Sinn

Marshall McKenzie Williams

Ist Ruck Sweet Narkle McEntee

Int: Walsh,

Better balanced than what we had this year.

From what I’ve read about Reid and Walter. Walter sounds like the rarer talent. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s the best player from the draft.

Walter can play from day 1 too. He’s a unit.

And if he develops as expected , and Ben king can stay fit that’s a hell of a tall forward line.

King , Walter , luko.

No team has a backline that could handle those players if they’re on. A 200cm kf, a physical beast , and one of the best kf runners.

Damn that magpies forward line and back line is stacked. That’s assuming we have 4 kfs in the afl side as well or Mitch or finlayson are at the Maggie’s.

Our midfield much much less so.

Why is nobody ever like Tom Logan with their attack on the footy?

Or do you have him in the AFL side?

Not enough quality or quantity in the midfield though.

Judging by the highlights videos and not much else I actually like the look of the 4 lads we’ve picked up. Made the most of a terrible draft hand and picked up some players that fill gaps in our list. All look like they’ve got a bit of grunt about them and nice skills.

The Power’s new draftees all appear unlikely to feature in the senior team, at least in the early parts of the season given the strength of Ken Hinkley’s list. But considering Port went into the draft with just Pick 73, it did well to at least have options after trading up the order twice on night two. Tom Anastasopoulos might come into calculations at some stage due to his speed, tackling pressure and goalkicking accuracy, though the Power’s small forward stocks are already settled with Willie Rioli and Jed McEntee plus medium-sized forward Mitch Georgiades to return from injury. Spots are tight as it is.

Well done to the List Management Team.

They filled up some cracks in the list with high potential draft picks.

The only thing I will say is that it would have been nice to have another developing ruck but to pick up some goalsneaky forwards is good news.

I feel the list itself is pretty balanced. It is just whether we can get the most out of it.

Yes god knows we could never expect any of these newbies to ever replace the output of Jed McEntee.

Visentini fills that role right now, backing up Sweet in the SANFL.

I want another one on the list.
3 rucks and 3-4 key forwards in the SANFL side would make things pretty unbalanced.

Sweet, Visentini + another ruck. Then 1 of Lord/Finlayson (if we don't go with a quad of doom at AFL level) + Georgiades, Scully and Walsh.
