Not sure why his mate specifically said he was approached by admin people of the club to run against Tredrea when Bruce has been thinking about it for 18 months hmmmmm
Both of those things can easily be true.

Abernathy has been thinking about throwing his hat into the ring again for the last 12 months.
And the club contacted him to run against Treaders.

But in reality, we should all follow Kochie's advice for the last decade. Remember how bad it was in 2011? You know, the last time Abernathy was a member of the board.

Voted for Tredrea but can’t help feeling both are better candidates than many current board members.

I think I say this every election, sorry for the broken clock routine, Port Adelaide is a relatively small and simple business model (albeit fairly high profile). In reality, good practice would be fine with 4 directors - although I fully understand expanding that for Tara Page’s, e.g. Executives of a significant sponsor.

If Koch wants to run an 8+ person board at an absolute minimum 3 should be football people.

It would be good to also have a recent ex-player on the board - like how the AFL appointed Matt DeBoer - maybe those types are regularly consulted but under Koch we’ve had **** all transparency.

As members, I’ve always felt it’s the expectation and our responsibility to elect football people and while I’m sure Kathy Nagle did her best for the club… the CEO of a large GP clinic sized hospital has no business on the board of a football club.

Port are currently the only club in the league without a single former VFL/AFL footballer on their board, or in their executive.

The only one!

Well at least it didn't go like... I pressed for WGT but the machine says I voted for BA.

Gold Coast just scraping in there. 🤣

Still, it's a ridiculous situation considering the vast number of PAFC alumni out there.

It’s not exactly Chazz Palminteri putting it all together at the end of The Usual Suspects, is it.

Koch’s public flippancy regarding Tredrea.

Hinkley’s alleged disdain for the football acumen of SANFL-era icons.

The propaganda machine’s craven disrespect towards a tired and fed up supporter base.

Anyone with a genuine passion and concern for the club is walled off. And we’re literally the only ones doing it.

Yeah, but then they all learned about their club first!

I laugh at all the idiots in Facebook world claiming that WGT isn't qualified because he doesn't have an MBA and doesn't know how to manage finances of a corporation etc...

My response to that is that there are 9 other board members in that role doing that job. One football person on the board wont hurt... much.

Haven't met anyone WITH an MBA who wasn't a bit of a w***er anyway

Can you do the same for millennial disruptors?

In an office I used to work at the bloke who ordered the stationery used to put MBA after his name in his email signature block - for little while...
