They are lining up for us at our picks though. Tholstrup. Hardemann / Collard. Hall. Wouldn't be a bad crop with our two firsts and 40. I wouldn't be all that unhappy with that draft.
I wouldn’t be either. We’re not tapping into the cream, so hopefully we nab one that jumps out of their skin when they arrive.

Pick 13 (will end up around 16): Charlie Edwards
Pick 21 (will end up around 26): George Stevens
Pick 40 (will end up around 43): Best left over key back
Pick 95 (will end up around 55): Best small/medium forward
Both Edwards and Stevens are big body mids / ready to play, especially Stevens. Next pick up a key back, a small forward.
Then Jeka or Voss as a delisted FA, release Allison

Will round out our list nicely..

Is Sydney's academy like others that they can't match a bid before forty or have they been given special treatment like gold coast and co because Caiden Cleary looks a decent prospect.

They’re the same as father son selections.

Can be matched at any time.

At this stage we’ve only got 3 picks but I guess with Highmore being delisted SOS may try & snare another pick if there’s a player still on the board in the 30-40 region.
is it Toce or SOS that will pick the draft picks?

Northern academies (Sydney, Brisbane, GC, Western Sydney) all operate differently to NGA academies - they can match bids before 40.

St Kilda

Arrivals: Paddy Dow (traded – Carlton), Liam Henry (traded – Fremantle)

Departures: Oscar Adams (delisted), Jack Billings (traded – Melbourne), Jack Bytel (delisted), Nick Coffield (traded – Western Bulldogs), Leo Connolly (delisted), Jade Gresham (free agency – Essendon), Tom Highmore (delisted), Jack Peris (delisted)

Contracted: 37 (including one category B rookie)

Uncontracted: Daniel McKenzie

Draft picks: 13, 21, 40, 92
McKenzie remains in limbo after an injury-ruined season but the resurgent Mason Wood will be promoted to the primary list after a career-best campaign. The Saints have two high picks in this year’s national draft and could make four or more selections.

SOS would be the one that would have to wheel and deal to gain an extra pick, unless he uses pick 92 but that’s unlikely!
I would’ve thought he’d try and snare something in the low 30’s
If you have a look at the draft order, the picks this yeat are greatly stratified between rich and poor.
What l think it means is that mid range picks are not going to be traded as many clubs will need them just to get to their minimum intake.

From what l could figure out, there won't be any predictably or potentially available picks until Brisbane's p54 which should be around 50ish on the night.
Given our future 3rds will all be in that range and we don't have a f4th we're in a poor position to buy in, however a very good position to sell down as our p40 will be worth an unusually high premium.

Pick 92 or whatever is going to be irrelevant as most clubs will stop picking in the 40s range which means it will just drop down to a late 3rd/4th rounder anyway.

I also doubt we will be giving away many if any of our future 3rd rounders as we will need them for the Everritt father/son pick.

I agree. Depends whats planned for that last pick of ours but l don't see us trying to get another pick this year.

The jury’s out on whether Boston Everett or Elwood Peckett will be worth picking up…bare in mind also Adrian Cole maybe be a potential NGA pick up.
Would be great if all 3 are good prospects!

Yep, 92 may finish up being a half decent pick. If we do want to take a fourth selection then it may be enough. At this point, we won’t be needing much for an Everitt match. It won’t be in their consideration.

Excuse my ignorance. Isn't 92 in play for the Mason Wood upgrade, which we must make? Otherwise, if we are picking a 4th, think Cam Nyko's name is all over it.

Fallacy. We need gun centre square mids. We ain't getting them from where our picks are.

Bigger Fallacy: Anyone who thinks that Lyon and SOS are trying to make over our list in just one draft period.

We are rebuilding the list over time to get better each year, with the aim to peak while players like King, Nas, Owens are still in their prime.

We may or may not pluck a gun mid this draft. But we aim to some over this and the several drafts. We also are aiming to improve the entire team.

that was our strength with the previous recruiters
I think you may be confusing the List Manager (you know the guy that did all those wonderful contract deals!) with the Recruiters.

The guy that was spotting that SA talent, Toce is still with us, he is our Head Recruiter now.
