I'm a Brown fan but Gulden is a such a lazy comparison. Doesn't break lines or kick over a distance anywhere near as well a Gulden.

If you want to go with a left footed mid I think a much smaller poor man's Jackson Macrae is a far better comparison.

It’s like when Vince compared Sparrow to Dangerfield after one preseason lol. Sparrow is a poor mans Jack Graham from Richmond

Worse one I have seen, why on earth would Dees use pick 6 on a Langdon clone and pick 14 on a poor mans Zuurha. 2 positions we basically don’t need filled, while passing up on KPDs, KPF or Fyfe clones.

We're keen on Windsor, but couldn't see us leaving Curtin and Leake on the board to grab him.

Tholstrup sounding more and more like the pick at 11 (13) though.

a) Langdon is a gun, what are you talking about. b) Tholstrup is a Lachie Schultz/Dylan Moore type who are both guns and c) we're going best available so positions mean nothing.

Jason Taylor interview:
"we're going best available at both picks"
"we're still looking to move up from pick 6 and 11"
"Not ruling ourselves out from Harley Reid".
"Who we pick at pick 6 won't influence who we pick at pick 11"
"I visited Tholstrup family. Purely procedure as I like to meet both of the the parents and I hadn't".

He mentioned the Wizard is in the mix.

Dees retain hope over No.1 pick

MELBOURNE hasn't given up on potentially landing the No.1 pick and Harley Reid.

The Demons are among the clubs who have made offers to West Coast for the top selection.

As AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey reported last month, the Dees offered picks No.6, No.11 and No.42, plus a future first, for the No.1 pick.

Melbourne recruiting manager Jason Taylor explained the club's thinking as it retains some hope of landing the Eagles' pick.

"If you look over the journey, players like Harley Reid are game changers," he told AFL.com.au's Gettable Draft Countdown on Friday.

"He is only one player, but we feel that they can really have an impact on the success of a footy club so we weigh that up and then we weigh up the selections we've got there against what we could bring in alternatively.

"But we just felt that he's a really high-end talent, we love his character, the way he goes about his football so we thought it was an opportunity to have a go at that and as you said Cal, it's not over yet, but we'll see what happens."

Taylor added: "There's always a glimmer of hope."

If there is any glimmer of hope it would be coz Curtin is falling to #6. West Coast wouldnt make the trade if they thought he wasn't.

I would prefer we take Curtin and keep ours picks but im too worried we'll pass on him and take a 170cm midget or something ridiculous like that so now i just want West Coast to take our offer.

WC wont trade with us unless they are certain Curtin will be there. Meaning Watson likely going earlier.

But yeah, we could easily do #Themelbourneway and select someone like Sanders.
