Send Harmes and Grundy to Swans for a late first rounder. I've heard the Swans are after Norfs pick 14. Go hard for that if it happens.

If Sydney are after that pick it's not going to be to get Grundy and Harmes, they would obviously have something else in mind. Grundy is going to end up being a second, Harmes is barely worth a third.

Only way a first round pick could possibly be coming back to us would be if we were giving up later picks to unlock another deal for them.

You're probably right. I'm just getting greedy with the first round picks. I still think Grundy is worth more than pick 31.

Who cares about KPP depth. If you have really good KPP depth your either wasting money or gonna lose one to better opportunity anyway.
Everyone cares about depth.

If you think a premiership can happen without a deep list then you’re delusional.

We’re going to be in a unique situation now with what has been reasonable depth at Casey becoming very lean all of a sudden.

It’s not just depth for the purposes of having a back up plan, but having a strong VFL team to bring kids through is invaluable.

The club will need to find the balance between topping up with depth/role players and bringing in kids with our draft picks.

The depth you really want is young players who haven't had the chance to prove themselves at AFL level yet but are dominating VFL. As it stands we have basically none of that - Turner, Laurie and Woewodin the only ones anywhere near the mark and they're hardly barging the door down at VFL level.

If your 'depth' is guys who aren't AFL standard then it's just a mirage of depth because at best they're injury cover and don't put any pressure on senior players to perform.

We're at risk of having three useless tall forwards - Schache, Tmac and Brown - on the list next year with absolutely no possibility they make the side better unless Schache miraculously is transformed into a competent defender. Would be better to take a couple more draft picks or a DFA or even an Irishman who actually has some potential to become a senior player.

I feel like we started the Irish experiment, but it feels like every other club is benefiting from that except us these days. Wouldn't mind us going down that path again.

Another relatively low possession game from Watson, but he produced several moments of magic and had a big impact on the contest. His field kicking was a class above, and he showed his athleticism by flying spectacularly for his marks. As the game wore on, he seemed to become more interested in scrapping with his Tassie opponents than playing football.

Hmm. I really hope we move up and get McKercher. Don't mind Watson, but not giving up our only top 5 pick on this bloke.

Not much to be impressed at there. Can't see him going to high based off the last two weeks.

Agreed. But i think he has enough runs on the board to stay in that top group. I'll be disappointed if he's our best selection. He'll probably come out and kick 50 goals for the Hawks first season now!

He's welcome to tank his way down to our pick 13 – would be much more comfortable taking him then

Yeah. I feel like we've completely ignored the opportunities in Ireland. Callum Brown is a beast of a forward for GWS. How much better would our side be if we had got him?

Brisbane, Hawthorn and Geelong are smart enough to have multiple Irish players, knowing that it will alleviate any homesickness and bring them on quicker.

I'm not sure that we even have anyone in Ireland scouting for us.

How good is Brown! Exactly right. Bizarre we seemed to drop that side of recruiting completely.

Bonner has been delisted by Port.

Outside runner that is hot and cold. I want some wing depth to put pressure on Langdon and Hunter. If we had a decent winger in the VFL I imagine they would have dropped Langdon at some point this year.

Here is a list of supposedly 45 players available for trade this year, as reported on AFL Trade Radio;

Paddy Dow, Jack Billings, Deven Robertson, Zac Fisher, James Harmes, Jordon Sweet, Daniel McKenzie, Liam Ryan, Brandan Parfitt, Liam Henry, Tom Doedee, Jarryd Lyons, Nick Haynes, Sam Hayes, Mabior Chol, Hunter Clark, Zak Jones, Finlay Macrae, Brodie Grundy, Shane McAdam, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Elijah Hollands, Jackson Mead, Denver Grainger-Barras, Esava Ratugolea, Lochie O’Brien, Tarryn Thomas, Ben McKay, Khai Lohman, Todd Goldstein, James Jordon, Scott Lycett, Matt Flynn, Ivan Soldo, Dylan Stephens, Braydon Preuss, Jade Gresham, Caleb Marchbank, Nick Coffield, Hugo Ralphsmith, Tyler Brockman, Adam Tomlinson, Orazio Fantasia, Tom Curley, Trent Bianco.

Definitely a couple of top up options in here for us.

Mind you I just noticed Adam Tomlinson listed who has been told he’s staying.

The unwanted Melbourne star is reported to have told the Demons he wants to be traded to the Swans, ending a disastrous cameo with the club.
Grundy’s move from Collingwood to the Demons has blown up their faces with Grundy dumped from the senior team
The Grundy-Max Gawn partnership proving to be an unmitigated disaster for the club.

Sure, it didn't work out, but there's nothing like a bit of hyperbole lol

Of these the ones I'd be interested in considering are (in no particular order):

McAdam
Fisher
Lohman
Hollands
Chol

Lohman I'm particularly keen for us to go for. Hollands probably not likely. Chol and Fisher only if they came cheap.

If any of the ruckmen on that list were being either delisted or given away for a token pick they'd be fine as a back-up in case of Gawn injury.
