Despite trying to dissect the Swans zone with some tough kicks, thought Newman was good again

Saad seems to have the blend between defending and attacking absolutely spot on for most of the year

Marchbank was horrible early, but with each contest, just got better and showed why the club rates him highly, he will stay in based on that game

So, don't think we need to be as tall against the Demons as a defensive 7, 1 of Kemp or Gov could go forward
On Marchy, watched him closely at the game, got to all the right places, disposal tends to let him down more often than not. I thought him standing waiting for that kick from Newmy only to get picked off by Gulden was ordinary.

How bloody good is it to be back playing and more importantly winning finals. The G was absolutely pumping last night.

I thought some of our lesser lights were outstanding - Acres, Cottrell, Hewett, Marchbank. Plus strong performances from Walsh, Cerra, Saad and Martin.

Sydney under Longmire were never going to go meekly so very pleased to hold them off in the end.

Onto to next week, back at the G. Go blues.

Caleb Marchbank, I was wrong!

Hand up here as well.
I’d had enough and put the red pen through him.
Kudos to the club for persevering, on the big stage last night he repaid the faith.
Get the feeling Weitering has let it be known to the coaches that he wants him in.
As a backman , you have to have ultimate trust in your fellow defenders to do the business team wise without question, without fail.
Weiters will never have to wonder about Marchbank, with Kemp and Cincotta cut from the same cloth.
Then there’s Saad … the ultimate pro 👍

Truth hurts?
Nothing you said was truth!! 🤡

2 goal assists in a one goal win, and if you base his or any player’s performance by how many goals they kick then you haven’t paid any attention to what Vossy and the coaching staff have instilled in our system and the way we play!!

Charlie kicked one goal last night and had only 4 more touches than Harry, but you “demand results” so I take Charlie would be in trouble to keep his spot next week … FOH!!

We will miss H immensely this week against the Dees with May and Lever.

The abuse that Harry cops from our so called “supporters” is sickening

Yes yes yes but No no no.
I mean it's not just Harry.
It's always someone.
It was Acres earlier this year and Cottrell and Owies, O'Brien, Plowman, Murph, Gibbs...etc etc ..any and all.
Blokes that give or gave their all for our club.
But whingers will always whinge from a distance behind the anonymity and claim it's discussion rather than sour vitriol.

Just watched the replay, extremely good way to start the day 😉
Walsh- needs to pull his head in early, burning players & demanding the ball in shit spots, stopped doing that after 20min and was very good
Kemp- great game, one bad moment but shit happens
Cotts & Acres - absolutely brilliant - both ran ridiculously hard both ways all game & were just clutch & clean in what they did.
Acres was in a world of pain late but pushed thru & kept working
Saad - awesome defensively & was back providing some drive forward
Weiters - clutch, won some great contests
Mots- silly sub, said he might not touch it - he didn’t
Marchbank - a few questionable touches, few brilliant ones too
TDK was very good, a couple awesome moments early & late
Martin- being out is going to hurt, damn he gets to good spots & has important touches.
Cunners - gets a lot of love for doing very little, nice goal but 9 touches & only 6 effective isn’t the return we need from him.

We won ugly, but we won!
We can & will lift another gear next week

I understand the Harry frustrations and I was ropeable when he missed that set shot, sucked the energy out the crowd and team. However, the boys got it back together and showed some maturity. Old Carlton would have given up and rolled over.

Whatever mental demons Harry is having hopefully are sorted out over the preseason as he is crucial part of our forward structure. Once he went off, our forward line was almost non existant and looked like headless chooks.

Everybody just enjoy the win ffs, we have been waiting a decade for this and we have naysayers...

Yeah nah. I wish my clients still paid me big money if I couldn't manage the simplest tasks in my job. I'd be sacked in a heartbeat. Bloke is on 800k I dont feel sorry for him at all I expect results.
He has had injuries and previously won a Coleman, give him a break, no one’s perfect. The effort was there just didn't quite go his way, move on

Too see a wingman and an injured one at that get back on the line and get a touch in those two crucial moments was just huge.

How hard Acres works back is incredible and then to be on the end of the match sealer up the other end whilst clearly winged was just off the charts bravery/determination.

A true Blue hero in the making we have here.
