This is highly likely, but would be the conservative approach.
Would you go consider the TDK/JSOS duo if available for selection?

Think if all are available, Voss would still go with Pitto and TDK, although I don't think we diminish overall effectiveness if it was TDK and Jsos

I appreciate the hardness that Pitto brings, but the consequences are, that TDK becomes a shadow of what he's capable of and our forward 50 becomes clogged up and more predictable.
I'm not sure whether the positives outweigh the negatives. For us to go finals deep this year, we need Harry to regain form and touch, it helps more if JSOS plays 3rd tall than TDK crashing packs in the forward line.

I think your starting point should be, Jsos is out for most of the finals

I think we go with the 2-ruck setup, but it means every other decision has to err on the side of speed and defensive pressure.

JSOS not available as second ruck, McKay no good at it (yet); round 23 was too late to try to get Harry as second ruck option.

Pitto subbed out at half time (or late in the 2nd Q) after he has battered Hickey...

Then TDK runs amok.

Line ball on the numbers, but I'd swing to Cuners' ceiling being considerably higher.

And he's a fair bit quicker too.

Cuners ceiling considerably higher - true

I'd argue that this is made up with Fog's floor being considerably higher. Fog does a lot of things that numbers don't often capture. DC can be invisible.

Good luck with getting tickets everyone.

Form chart since round 13 (Thanks Ferris):

Sydney has been in good form. Some good games coming up...
Sydney went 2-7 against top 8 teams this year.

That's Not to say they can't just turn it around now but it's not a good look going into finals.

Surely footy gods can't continue to be with them? People tout our 2013 9th to 8th drug hand me down as luck but we did win 11/22 have a % similar to not only * but also Port who were 7th and an attack and defence that was on par with the bottom half of the 8.

But here Sydney for the love of the footy gods got blessed by Norths interchange stupidity (which how it happened is mind boggling) and a goal umpires total misguided confidence have given them 2 extra wins to have 12 from 23 as opposed to 10/23.

Maybe the gods are with us this year and are giving us the opportunity to play the team that's winless at the G this year, has fallen from Grand-Finalist to artificially getting in, had a legend retire thinking the season was done (which must have been the view internally somewhat).

Pitto & TDK is akin to Hickey & McLean, despite both being marginally quicker

The game won't be won or lost because of these 4 players

Pittonet, TDK, McKay, Curnow, Weitering, McGovern, Kemp
Hickey, McLean, McDonald, Amartey, McCartin, Blakey, Rampe

The only issue is they do have more speed than us, which is why people think we need an extra runner.

Most of Fog's career at CFC has been invisible until the last handful of games.

Aside from one purple patch, you could say the same thing about DC.

True, think it shows that finally he has overcome his issues (got his body better than it has ever been in his time at Carlton).

Really admire his tenacity and perseverance, yet I rarely see him kicking the footy more than 35 metres.

His tackling, hardness and link-up has been invaluable, I admit. I want him in the side for sure.

However, I really want Davey in the side as well. The week off will really help him more than most, simply because he has not been on the park much at all over the last couple of seasons. He is classy, looks laconic at times, but don't be fooled. Just the kind of player that could go to the next level over finals imo.

Strong side, I would have Fog over Cuners, just
me too.

very happy that cuningham has come back and delivered, didn't think he would tbh.

BUT while DC has a huge ceiling compared to fog he's still very anonymous for huge portions of the game, where as fog brings a fierce defensive mindset, has improved his kicking and makes things happen by workrate and tackling.
