And thats my point. Its like shooting bambi and there is zero chance Doc doesnt play, so its all a moot point I guess. BUT I feel like structurally him coming in provides greater versatility than the person he likely comes in for but not a better specialist than whoever he replaces. I dont know if he is a better winger than Hollands, a better mid than Dow and I dont think as a few have said he will play half back.

What about Walsh to a wing and Hollands misses?

Selection is going to be very interesting, and there will be plenty debate before and after the game

Couldn't give a stuff about the names, just the collective team that gives us the best chance to win, finals footy
What team would you go in with arrow ? and what team do you reckon voss and co will pick ?

The Blues parochial commentary, made possible thanks to Carlton’s Member Partner BUPA, will call all the action through a Blues lens, hosted by the one-eyed Carlton trio of Andy Maher, Mark Maclure, and club legend Wayne Johnston.

Think Voss has made it clear that he values defensive intent/awareness as the number 1 priority

Boyd Weitering Newman
Gov Kemp Saad

Acres Cripps Doc
Pitto Cerra Hewett

Martin Harry Fog
Owies Charlie Mots

TDK Walsh Cotts Cincotta

Sub: Any of Dow, Fisher, Hollands, Cuners, Durdin, Kennedy

But if it's really wet, we might go in with 1 less ruckman and Kennedy would be ideal in those conditions

If fit, do we bring Kennedy in as sub to give extra grunt around the contest & another marking option or go with Dow.

Probably all of Acres, Cottrell, Hollands play, able to run 45km between them. & one with always an eye on Gulden

Motlop for Durdin for sure

Cripps for Dow for sure

Docherty for Fisher/Hollands? I think with Cincotta's size he stays. I think with the physicality of a final, with no time & space, we can't have all of Saad, Martin, Hollands & Fisher playing. Either one of Fisher or Hollands don't play. Does Boyd play?

Pitto is the interesting one. Going by the simulation he plays. I wouldn't. I would play Dekoning as no 1 ruck and ask a bit from Mckay. Then have Kennedy as a sub who can hit hard around the contest and also be marking option up forward swapping this role with Cripps later in the game. Under this scenario Acres/Cottrell/Hollands play for ground cover. Means we have 22 mobile players from the start. Our biggest wins came when 2 of Dekoning/Young/Silvagni played. We gang tackled and closed time and space on the opposition. We have elite talls and have Dekoning coming into his own. Pile on the mids & runners.

I think with the class of Cuningham he plays. The rest would've done him good and his ability to finish is important.

Plenty of viable options and now, think the weather will play a big part in team selection

8 degrees and hail Friday night.
What the actual **** is that weather dip

BoM's predictions have been actual rubbish lately though, combination of their new systems not being up to pace and their models being undercooked (likely not bringing together the extra data very well and their breadth of data being sparse).

Climate change is ****ing with their maths.

Kennedy and Hewett go well in the wet.

Andy Maher, Mark Maclure, and club legend Wayne Johnston.
To be fair, I've heard Maclure whack us harder than other "neutral" commentators plenty of time. If the game isn't going our way he'll be far more critical than any other commentator!

Except for maybe Jordan Lewis, who quite clearly dislikes Carlton and can't hide it anytime he's involved in a Carlton topic on the various shows he's part of. He'd relish the chance to pile on as a commentator.

I hope Cripps doesnt feel like he needs to do too much like he has in the past. Trust his team mates.... dont want the excitement and all the talk that he is built for finals make him feel like he needs to be everything.
Like, an excellent footballer?

Sydney as a whole, go a lot better in the wet - re-watch the Adelaide v Sydney game, especially the first 3 quarters when it was howling down. Makes me nervous now.
Everything can make us nervous right now if we want it to. Try not to overthink. We'll be fine.
Super in fact.
Can't wait!

Until we've got confirmation on injury status, I'm going with:

OUT: Hollands, Durdin, Fisher, Marchbank
IN: Cripps, Silvagni Motlop, Docherty

EMG: E.Curnow, Hollands, Marchbank, Pittonet
Feeling more and more like Jack is half a chance if he nails a fitness test on Thursday.

Still backing Dow over Kennedy and Pittonet, and I'm not interested in playing both of Motlop and Owies without Fogarty helping with midfield pressure and transition from half-forward.

Question is who out of Cuningham, Martin, Owies, Motlop, Cottrell, and Cincotta (moving Docherty to defence) would you drop for Jack in my proposed line-up? I'm thinking Cottrell if he's being forced out of the forward line, especially with Walsh back.
