carlton_99 exactly if one has a fractured jaw the swelling would be intense although potentially may have gone down by now.

Doesn't make sense to play Marchy unless someone is missing? Cincotta can take Hayward no problem.
Guess we will see but Swans have a pretty tall forward line with five players that are either tall or play tall (McDonald, Amartey, McLean, Heeney and Hayward) so it could just be Marchbank taking the Fisher/Cincotta spot

Fisher would be the obvious one without a match-up.

Precisely.

The way to beat Sydney is to dominate clearances. They will be very mindful of that and I suspect Mills will stay close to Cripps as he has done to Dawson and Oliver in the last 2 games. They can’t tag them all however so Cerra, Hewett etc will be key as will having 2 strong rucks like Pitto and TDK.

Suffice to say the weather helps our contested style more than Sydney who rely more on run. Similar dynamic to tonight’s game with Melbourne thriving for the contest as opposed to the Pies who like to run. As Vossy said let’s play to our strengths!

Saad, Weitering, Kemp
Docherty, McGovern, Newman
Acres, Cerra, Hollands
Martin, McKay, Cuningham
Owies, Charlie, Tdk
Pittonet, Cripps, Walsh
Cottrell, Motlop, Hewett, Boyd
Dow sub

Can’t wait for finals to begin!
I like it - only diff for mine is Cncotta in instead of Boyd.

I'd be very surprised if we throw Kemp forward...

Makes no sense given where he's been playing all season.

We don't need more tall options in the forward line any way with Charlie, Harry and resting ruck...
He might be there for a Simon Beaumont half of footy before he goes back....

Marchbank inclusion changes things slightly, although still concerned with his form

Marchbank Weitering Newman
Gov Kemp Saad

Acres Cripps Doc
Pitto Cerra Hewett

Martin Harry Fog
Owies Charlie Cuners

TDK Walsh Cotts Cincotta

Sub: Any of Dow, Fisher, Hollands, Mots, most likely Dow

Kemp won't play forward fulltime, but could see it happening for brief periods, and or if we sub Pitto at some stage

Boyd and Kennedy would have been close, but that side is built for finals

Think Mots could be stiff here, along with Hollands, Dow, Fisher
I can’t lock it down to 22+1. So bloody hard.

I feel so much for the players to miss out. They pretty much have all EARNED a game.

There is going to be some next level bleating on here when some favourites miss out. The only player in the obvious “mix”, I am “happy” to miss is Fisher. Expect Dow to miss, but he has absolutely earned it. Having said that, if Kennedy is missing due to lack of recent games, and is fit, that is cruel, more so than Dow maybe missing for mine.

I have Hollands in, and certainly will not complain if Marchbank is named. He has been building for a couple of months, was very assured when came on V GWS, and is a class above most of his team mates when right. Too many posters either can’t or refuse to recall his best. Half a game, then a week off on top of his preparation will have him cherry ripe for this.

why am I feeling this group has moved beyond marchy...this post will self-destruct if/when he goes full matchsaving leo barry friday night

Tom Cruise What GIF

He could be picked ahead of either Fisher or Cincotta.
Would not be nonsensical.

IMO it’s not that nonsensical though as Sydney have 3 genuine tall forwards and Heeney who is very good overhead.

Weitering/Marchbank/Kemp get Amartey/Mclean/McDonald

McGovern gets Heeney

Newman gets Papley

Saad gets Hayward/Wicks

There is no match up for Boyd, Cinc or Fisher. Doc is the seventh defender rotating between half back and wing. In that scenario Hollands misses. If it’s a wet grind that probably makes sense.

Good sides have good players missing and it's why I never focus on the name just the output

Many believed I had a positive bias to Fisher, but haven't mentioned him once since he was dropped as being hard done by

On output, yes Hollands would be stiff, but not when you consider Acres, Doc, Cotts rotating the wings

Biggest concern for me is Marchbank and the surprise would be Cuners over Mots, but again, Cuners game is built for finals footy
