Fixture has finally been released (1 day early).

Gill would have been fuming it was leaked by The Age :laughv1:

I was told a 4 year wait list for seats.

Edit: legends lounge seats, that is. Was trying to get an additional seat near our current ones.
That's interesting. I upgraded to legends lounge in February this year and was able to get very close to where I wanted.

A 4 year wait would suggest a massive growth in expectation. They did put pressure on to renew earlier than I normally would.

Gonna be some disappointed people (re GF tickets) when we finally get it right.

Yeah, I'm not really sure why they haven't put the showdown on that weekend.

That makes absolutely zero sense. Why put a game on that will sellout when they can have 2 home team games where they can max out the attendances (vs 1 & lockout).
You could argue there’s little sense in Adelaide playing us, where we would have likely got the greater crowd of the neutrals and bolstered another match attendance.

Gather Round' is such a cringe title.

Anyhow hopefully we don't have to play the Crows over there again next season (just from a fixturing fairness perspective)

I know we play Geelong round 2, hopefully at the G and not Marvel.
Thought the same re: Gather Round but loosening up a bit. Footy Fest

Think the point the poster was making was related to "fixture fairness". If they played the Showdown that week every team would essentially have a neutral game (no home/away). As it is now we have two teams playing an extra away game

All about the coffers for this round, the clubs & players benefiting, so commercialism overrules. Good on the SA Govt for stumping up.

Edit: don’t club members get in for free? Limits on the # of Adelaide & CFC members that may be able to attend this match.

Exactly. We've been shafted (as have the Dogs). Remains to be seen if they some how "square up" during the remainder of the fixture, but I don't see how.

They've given us Good Friday.

We may end up with one less interstate trip than we otherwise might have got in the remaining 22 games.

If Carlton supporters snap up half the tickets (which we can do) it will feel like a Port Adelaide home game for the Crows. Atmosphere should be great.

I agree with you what they did is all about commercial benefit and that's fair enough

We haven't been shafted (yet).
We've been recognised as THE marquee attraction of 2022 - the little pieces of the draw being leaked confirms this. The benefits of playing in these matches will be seen come finals time when we are better accustomed to playing in the big matches. The Adelaide Oval will be absolutely rocking. Sold Out. And oif we are any good, we'll clean up the Crows.

Not sure they are too worried about attendances, they seem to think this will be a massive win for the competition.
Wouldn't a showdown be the fairest result for all clubs given there are currently 2 clubs who have to play an extra true away game?

And yes, there's also the issue of opting for a big club to open proceedings against Adelaide that weekend. If they were so confident of crowds, why not put a smaller club up against the Crows?
Why not have Carlton v Collingwood or Essendon?

It's a ridiculous concept. I hope they don't do it for more than one year.

I like how tricky the fixture is looking. Originally I was concerned but now I think it gives you a good idea of where you are early on.

The hot starters never win the flag anyway

Cats were 5-4 and dees started 10-0 last year. It’s how you finish

And playing these tough teams like Richmond and Geelong early gives you time to change up things that fixing

Go blues

Like all things it will be determined by the outcome.

I have a feeling that all games will be sold out.

Good outcome to have one of our interstate games against one of the weaker interstate clubs where our members get free access to 50% of the tickets.
