Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper provided an update on the injury list ahead of Round 14 against Brisbane, presented by Castlereagh Imaging.
Isaac Heeney

Isaac sustained a nose fracture in the game against St Kilda. Having passed a concussion test in game, he subsequently reported symptoms post game and failed a concussion test. He will be managed as per AFL Concussion guidelines.

I don't think anyone wants tom to retire but assuming he misses this week, that's 7 out of 14 games he's missed this year whilst experiencing concussion symptoms. It's not great
Heeneys so called concussion is the final nail in the coffin for me that our doc is taking the piss. I'm convinced he's just ruling players willy nilly for stock standard headaches, it's gone beyond the joke now. Either that or he is under strict instruction by the club so that they can avoid any legalities. Can't tell me tmac is being held back on the consensus that whatever he is symptomatic of is 100% unequivocally due to a concussion from 10 weeks ago. If they've taken it this far how on earth are they going to differentiate future symptoms like a headache being due to or not due to previous concussion?

As for Heeney, the main lingering symptom of a broken nose is a cold headache. It's not a concussion ffs. The chances of a concussion from a hit to the shnozz is futile, let alone to be diagnosed with it days after. Absolutely ridiculous. He'd be the first person on the planet to be diagnosed with delayed onset concussion days after a hit to the snout.

Lance Franklin
Lance sustained some knee swelling following the main training session on Wednesday. As a result, he was withdrawn from the match against Brisbane. His knee pain has settled over the weekend and we expect him to test his availability in training this week.

Isaac Heeney
Isaac is progressing his rehabilitation following his concussion injury against St Kilda. He will continue to be managed as per the AFL Concussion Guidelines.

Callum Mills
Callum’s recommenced team training last week as a part of his calf strain rehabilitation. He is expected to train fully this week and be a test to return to play this weekend.

Tom McCartin
Tom’s has completed a block of conditioning training and commenced training with the main training group last week. He will be a test to return to play this weekend.

Logan McDonald
Logan’s rehabilitation from his medial ankle ligament injury continues to accelerate. He is completing change of direction and sprint-based retraining, and we expect him to recommence team training this week.

Peter Ladhams
Peter’s is building his running volume and speed. He will look to commence change of direction work this week.

Matt Roberts
Matt has been building his change of direction and aerobic conditioning running. He will begin skills based training this week.

For a side with supposedly heaps of injuries

We don't have many injuries.
For us it’s not about a huge list and more about the fact that just about all the injured can make a claim for a best 22 spot. And a lot of them have been key position players.

It'd be nice if the club could provide an actual update based on progress during the week, rather than one clearly written at the start of the week, then just dropped an hour before selection.

Thankfully one can love the Club, yet regard it's administration with contempt.

There appears to be light at the end of the tunnel in regards to injuries (touch wood) Not that I think it will make much difference. IMO the damage to our season was caused by what was done - or what wasn't done - between October and February, and it's hard to overcome that during the season.

I’m half expecting to read “Kurt’s ankle has progressed and we expect him to resume running soon”.

IDK, hard to put concussion and neck injuries down to conditioning. Similar with Ladhams, Logan, Roberts with ankles and knees.

This might make sense if most of our injuries were calf, hamstring, quad, groin or side issues.

Edit: Nm, I realise you're talking about form of our actually fit players.
