Tom McCartin is the biggest concern.

McCartin
McDonald
Warner
Rowbottom
Gulden
Campbell
Blakey
McInerney

That's the core our team will be built around going forward and McDonald and McCartin are both pivotal to it.

So the club has moved into the best facilities they've ever had.
The players want for nothing as far as training, recovery, etc.

We now have the worst soft tissue injury crisis that I can ever remember as a supporter.
What's to go? To many latte's whenever they want?

Makes no sense other than perhaps there some short cuts being taken.

There are 3 soft issue injuries on our injury list (i guess 4 if you count the ankle sprain, but you shouldn’t).

Our midfield is being slaughtered in the media which it should as it has been largely untouched by injuries. It has no excuses for performing so badly.

I must have missed Mills' change of role lately. Does he not play midfield?

Does having our number one ruck out not influence our midfield? I thought Hickey was a key clearance player last year, or has that changed too?

Rowbottom has been horrendous and I've said it week after week, but Warner and Gulden are having terrific years.

Yeah flagged it last week when he was out again with concussion, given his brother's issues, which is sad given how durable he's looked over the start of his career.

Yes he does, but he was there the entire time when our midfield was crap the last 5 weeks.

Hickey? Think this was his first game for the year against Freo. Mills? Think he's been thrown around and played defence against Geelong because of our other injuries. Who did you mean?

Looks like Ladhams will be out for some time

Even before he went down it looked like his arm injury was troubling him

If he needs an operation on the ankle that will be the season for him.

We need to indicate to the AFL by Wednesday whether we have players on the Inactive List and wish to enter the MSD.

We could have three, tho I doubt we take more than two.

We have no choice now but to look for 2 in the MSD

A forward ruck and a key position

Pity it’s gotta be 18 month contracts and not 6 months.

Early prognosis

Another week, another injury to a Sydney tall, with Ladhams set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines after rolling his ankle against North Melbourne. His absence means the Swans will have their fingers crossed Hickey is cleared to face the Blues on Friday. Tom McCartin's immediate future remains unclear due to concussion, while the rest of Sydney's ever-growing injury list won't be available until after the bye, at the earliest. The Swans have three tall forwards, three tall defenders and two rucks on the injured list. – Martin Smith

I've kinda bit my tongue on this because I know SFA about concussions and I'm not really qualified to be commenting, but this is a discussion board so what the hell.

I'm starting to doubt the feasibility of the McCartin brothers' future in the AFL. I understand we're being careful with them, and I feel that's absolutely the right way to go, but longer term, how is it going to be sustainable for them to miss multiple weeks every time they show symptoms?

When will it ever be "the right time" to play them?

I think clubs will be more conscious of concussion symptoms for all players.

Before a player might reluctantly miss 1 match because of AFL rules. Now it might be fairly common to to be stood down for 2 matches. And there will be more monitoring throughout the week and all players would be encouraged to self report symptoms.

It is something that can happen to all players. Hickey did not get concussed during the match but self reported symptoms. And last round there were a few really bad concussions in the other games.
