I would have thought he would take longer to recover and regain fitness

have we had anyone in our squad recover so quickly from the same injury?
He's just completed a vast majority of pre-season, he will be ok fitness wise. Recovery is another thing, but i'd give him a few extra weeks than push him for R1 but footy clubs are super aggressive on that front.

Never heard of this syndesmosis til a few years ago, now every man and his dog gets it.
Used to be misdiagnosed as just a run of the mill rolled ankle until they started noticing that you kinda need those two bones to be stable to be useful.

We used to just see blokes jabbed, thrown out left to be running around lame and 'out of form' for large chunks of the season.

Now they get back early and look ****ing garbage for months (see: aliir)

Would have thought Jezza wouldn't play a lot this year with Kellie being in a bad way anyway.

Yes, definitely give him an extra month off to recover properly - and spend some more quality time with his partner.

No rush.

I reckon we can all concur and appreciate that some things are more important than footy, even for Port supporters.

Best wishes to both of them and hope things improve 😐

Just to be clear, we know exactly what Sinn cost us now:
Pick 16 (18 - Sheldrick) & Ladhams, for;
Pick 12 (14) & Future 3rd (Scully)

Then

Pick 14 (Chesser) & Future 2nd (Burgiel), for;
Sinn

Consolidated Equation:
Sheldrick + Ladhams + Burgiel = Sinn + Scully

High Risk, yes. High Reward, also yes.

Equation is helped by Ladhams' continued regression and lack of professionalism. Lil' Pisty, *'s sake.
This is not correct. The future 3rd was pick 51 and tied up in the JHF deal. The pick is Bailey MacDonald from Hawthorn, not Scully.

On paper.

Ladhams, Pick 18 (Sheldrick) and Pick 29 (Burgiel)

For

Pick 12 (Sinn) and Pick 51 (MacDonald - traded in JHF deal)

Right now Sinn alone for Ladhams is a bad trade for us. But we gave up more than that and right now he still has demonstrated zero to say he'll be worth any of what we gave up. Hopefully he can get fit and blossom, but there are bust vibes everywhere with what we saw from Sinn last year. Meanwhile Ladhams was a player we desperately lacked last season. We were literally crying out for a mobile ruckman like him, so not only did we give him away for bugger all, but we actually caused ourselves a massive amount of short term pain by giving away someone that was of HUGE value to our needs.

We paid a massive price for Sinn and we desperately need him to come good.

We also got Collingwood's 2023 second round pick from GWS in the trade, so that would be added to our side (considering they're who we traded the pick that ended up as 51 to). So the dust will settle when we use that pick... or it will continue on if we trade it.

That's the JHF trade, that's separate to the Ladhams trade. Yes we did more moves with 51, but 51 was no more than change in a gigantic deal there, so can't really be considered. Ultimately the consequential moves for Sinn were.

Port In - Pick 14, Pick 51
Syd In - Pick 18, Ladhams

Port In - Pick 12
WCE in - Pick 14, Pick 29

Meaning Ladhams, Pick, 18 and Pick 29, basically for Sinn + a deep pick in the crap shoot part of the draft.

It's the Osteitis pubis of this generation.

Plus salary cap saving; if Ladhams had stayed, he had expectations for an increased contract.

JHF: Port Adelaide’s big off-season recruit has suffered a setback in his preparations for season 2023 with a new injury concern. Looks like he’s either got a knock or strain on the outside of his knee.

The most recent thing I've read says it was just a corkey just above his knee and that they took him off the ground as a precaution because of his off-season surgery. Hopefully that's the case.

Just go and ask the North board. They're the ones clicking refresh on JHF news every 0.006 seconds.
In all my many years on this board I can’t remember ever coming across such a toxic bunch of posters, they are really f*****d. You have to laugh at them calling us the worst team in Adelaide though, coming from the worst team in the league.

I wonder how posters on this board acted when S.Burgoyne left back in the day. Probably the same.

I know a lot of us were pretty dirty on him going and probably weren't exactly wishing him a hugely successful time with the hawks, but I don’t recall seeing people wish injury and harm for him.

There seems to be a general consensus among BF posters that you stop short of rejoicing in injury to opposition players. A combination of knowing what it's like when it's your own player, and fear of karma I guess.

There's something off about the North board compared to the other club boards on BF. No idea why but the vibe is distinctly different in quite a toxic, aggressive way.

I've never experienced anything like it in my entire time on BF.

Makes me pine for Snake Baker to come back.
