Is he a great kick - no , goalkicker no … these are the 2 things that hold him back from elite

I’d even say he’s underrated by some on here , just because he’s not elite doesn’t mean he’s no good
Possibly why he is under rated and Crouch as well - and again why Keays is a mixed bag here.

Laird (skewed) 25 goals in 200+ - lets be generous and say 100 in the middle is still under par (56 Goal Assists)

Crouch 28 goals in 136 games - under par (48 GA)

Keays is the best at 36 goals in 90 games YET has 39 points as well - convert 1/3 and he would be just a pass mark. (45 GA)

Pendlebury 185 goals in 358 games with 223 GA

Petracca (played forward) 142 goals in 151 games 130 GA

Oliver 45 goals (49) in 147 games and 90 GA

Lachie Neale and Oliver Wines both Brownlow Medalists?

Laird has played about 60 games as a mid.

Petracca spent a decent chunk of his career so far as a forward.

Talking about transitioning from junior to AFL, NWM is a another very interesting example. I remember there were a few that didn't think his game would translate well to AFL, however he seems to transitioned exceptionally well.
He looks as fast, skillful and composed as he did as a junior and he seems to have so much time still.

In fairness to the Adelaide recruitment team in this instance I understand he was very high up on their list.
Supposedly he was next on our list after Rachele.

NWM was a st kilda fan growing up and extremely close to Jase Burgoyne (port).

If he comes home I think he'd be trying to get to Port. Who do not have a first round pick.

Would be stoked to get him! But I think he signs with st kilda.

Yeah but wouldn’t you want to be delivering it to Rankine?

He sounds keen…

Yup, and no spud either from what I can gather....'outstanding game sense, kicking and contested marking'. Euro Combine: Irish talls impress, new 20m record

Really happy with this signing. Thanks to Collingwood for developing him for us! Looks like he is ready to go and will further add to our squad and its depth!
We may benefit from the old player "retires" then returns with DFA rights and the club he walked out on gets squat.
Just getting in before it happens to us with McAsey

Cat B rookie or straight onto the list?

Has Scott Burns been tracking Keane, Brown and Madgen?

I was going to say similar (whether burns helped identify him or possibly attract him to us when he considered a return) but it appears that Keane joined Collingwood maybe the year after Burns moved on from there
You’re right. Keane started at the Pies in 2019 and Burns was at the Hawks.

Mark Keane....

Well I think it's safe to say nobody saw that one coming

I called for some Irish action about 6 weeks ago but was thinking a running half back

But I like this !!
I suggest the Crows allow MK to have a part-time/honorary role with the Hurling And Gaelic Football Association Of South Australia to ameliorate his homesickness that he was prone to at Collingwood (even though Covid exacerbated that).
