I
From this I’d be moving Sholl and Hamill to the rookie list, re-signing McAdam and letting Doedee, Hately, McPherson, Brown, Borlase go. Leaves us with 3 senior spots and 1 rookie spot.

With those spots I’d target a top end mid (draft), a ruckman (draft?), a key defender and a Hamish special (or a dirt cheap pick up like Hollands).
I'd be demanding the AFL allow us what they have other clibs and thats an extra year for a cat b rookie and keep borlase as our cat b. Then we get the extra list sot from your scenario above...more flexibility

Don't forget that Murray and Parnell both need to be upgraded to the senior list.

** Parnell may, or may not, need upgrading, depending on whether or not the AFL change the rules to allow MSD players a 4th year on the rookie list. As things currently stand, he needs to be upgraded.

That spreadsheet has already placed them on the senior list (unless there’s 36 senior spots, not 38)

I wonder if GC has any interest in McAdam

That would make the race for pick 4 interesting

He’s got a half brother there ? Jy Farrar ?
This is an interesting take. Get the feeling club has a strategy in mind by not resigning McAdam. He must have some currency and would be a good fit on the Gold Coast. Hmmmm 🤔

Always !

It’s like why bother , the crows guy is always sh1t and the guy from the other club is always a gun

Unless it’s Fogarty or tex, or rankine, or rachele, or murray, or jones, or rankine, or pedlar, or dawson, or TT, or butts, or keane, or borlase, or soligo, or nank, or hinge, or MM, or cook, or dowling, or bond and so on and so on …. Then it’s different as he’s the perfect combo of Barry robran and Gary Ablett senior
There ya go.. Fixed that for you..

laughable that you try and claim I dont rate many of our players except Fog.

I rate the bulk of our players, especially our under 25 lads..

what I have doubts on are a few others… sloane, keays, laird at times, murphy, ROB.. these guys are probably the main “weak links” I see in the 22..

but its funny because many here, even you, would definitely agree with me on at least a couple of those weak links I just listed..

I dont really understand what all the fuss is about that.. I think at present, Laird is in our best 22..

I just dont fap over laird like some in here do.. I see him as an accumulator type that gets lots of touches and makes shiteloads of tackles but isnt very damaging with ball in hand and certainly hasnt the game changing abilities of your cripps, petracca or oliver’s of the game..

not sure why this is even controversial.. apart from some around here clearly being unable to accept their favourite players being questioned.

Or he's thinking about asking a trade, in which case going home to one of the WA clubs is far more likely.

Fair chance McAdam's uncontracted status is his choice, rather than the club's.

Two takes from this list.
Firstly, at this stage there are only two must extentions next year … Hinge and Pedlar. Secondly, club must rate Dowling. Expect to see him feature more prominently next season. Could he be the mid we are looking for?
Dowling has class written all over him.. shouldve been given a run in the WC game to give him a taste.. missed opportunity.

his one flaw is his short kicking can sometimes let him down.. but I’m very confident the coaching staff, a bit of hard work and some experience (that will bring composure) can sort it out..

needs to be given a run next year.

Why perth though?

HALLS CREEK is probably closer to Adelaide than perth!..

edit.. its not… but its still a fxxkn long way from perth!

Currently...
  • McAsey is the only senior list player whose departure has been confirmed by the club.
  • McAdam, Hately & Doedee the only senior listed players who remain uncontracted
** Rule changes potentially affecting Sloane/Walker and Parnell have yet to be confirmed by the AFL.

Thanks so we can assume Hately isn’t getting a contract.

Maybe Bond, too

Hasn’t exactly set the world on fire
Oh cmon .....give the kid a chance

Bond's had two injury plagued seasons .....let him get fit, b4 jettisoning him

We’re not jettisoning him

Pies did it last year with Murley
You have already judged Bond though .....it's akin to the people who judged Pedlar last year ....no patience

He does ? .....I think it's been a normal 1st year for a draftee ....I wouldn't have said "class all over him"

You can't compare Dowling's season to that of Nankervis

i didnt… and… Why would I compare them?..

Nanks been on the list a year longer and done one extra preseason than Dowling has..

I love Nank.. reckon he’s a classy player with great composure.. think he should be trialed in the centre too.

Dowling though.. I just see real glimpses of class.. reckon with another pre-season under Burgess and he could potentially explode.

Underestimating Dowlings year a bit I reckon

Has adapted seemlessly to mens football and continued to improve with every game

Nah ....just not over-flowing with enthusiasm JUST YET

Do you think Dowling was influential on the weekend ?
