Hello Dockers fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

So we are assuming that Conrad and Reidy are sticking around right?
Yeah footywire has them both as contracted to 2024: Fremantle Dockers AFL Player Contracts

Reidy's status from memory was changed like a month to 6 weeks ago. Conrad was shown as 2024 for a good while now: this Feb 2023 archive of the site still has Conrad as contracted to 2024. Fremantle Dockers AFL Player Contracts

Seems like with Williams we were high on him and/or recognised that given his frame, we'd learn fairly little about him in his first year so basically gave him a 2 year deal from the start.

Pretty sure Footywire just takes educated guesses at this point of the year though, anyone who isn't delisted by now would have had their contracts extended I reckon.

Looks like Hamling gets only 2 bonus points as he is 30, surely he hasn't moved to Sydney for a contract that isn't atleast average for 25+ year olds?
we probably need him to be in the top 65% of earners over 25 to get that 3rd round compo as he is old and will lose a bunch of spots pushing him past the bottom 30%

We may get shafted if they have built incentives into his contract though, feel like Young isn't usually big on incentives contracts? If he has a games played = more money situation then we may be boned and get nothing

Apparently Geelong have thrown the kitchen sink at Sean Darcy. Anyone seen or know anything?
I heard 8 year deal on good dough.

Hey guys. Friendly intrusion (I hope). I've been of the thought that trading Darcy at full value now would be a good idea. Was just chatting with 2 dockers mates and had one agree and one disagree. What are your thoughts?

I'm certain that if Hughes was out of contract this year and left it would still somehow be the clubs fault. And I also find it funny how people are upset about Hughes being signed on for next year (b22, literally played every single game he was available this year) but wanted us to sign Hamling to two years (6 games in 4 years, only played when Cox was injured).
The fact Hughes played every game was bad. So much more talent that could use his spot.

Be quite happy with anything above 25 for Henry…and would take it.

also extremely happy for us to tell SOS and Young to go * themselves for anything less, and walk him to the PSD, with the clear understanding that we WILL pick him up before St Kilda or he can go to the draft and play chicken….where we pick him again….

We’ve put ten years into him, carried him when he was injured and playing like a ******* potato, and just when he gets good. He wants to leave…

We’re not a charity for Colin Young to waltz his clients around as it suits him...
Walk him to the PSD you say.....

Exactly. Why offer Naughton 10 years when you have McLean, Amarty and McDonald in your forward line? It’s like adding Lobb to an already top heavy forward line of Naughton, JUH and Darcy.

Sydney will add Grundy during the trade period. You don’t need to read between the lines to see McDonald, regardless of how well Sydney handle their interstate players is on the way out. He’s 6”5 for those playing at home. 😉
McLean should only ever be depth and Amarty is looking decent but not a stayer. Naughty makes sense for them but jeez I'd hate having a speahead who can't kick straight.

He’d have been in your top 10 players this season

Liam Henry - two options to consider

21 (Gresham Compo) > Henry, 61 (Carlton 3rd round after compo) = equates to around 26 value

We run with 21, 24, 46, 50, 65

F2, 35 (after compo for McKay, Gresham, Doedee) > Henry, 50 (~Hamling Compo), F4 = equates to around 26 value

We run with 24, 35, 46, 61, 65
(For 2024 have two second round picks)
Don't use the points systems its fundamentally fraud.

Everyone has their price...

Fair point BUT the counter argument is a hot topic ATM in another thread: the role of experience. The Dockers are still a very young side. It is very likely Hughes' selection has something to do with his experience that is not readily apparent to us observing from a distance.

The Darcy / Jackson combo is infinitely different to say the Gawn /Grundy pairing.
Darcy and Jackson are two very different players that offer a lot to the team both separately and as a pairing.
The counter argument to keeping them both is a that it is a lot of cap space tied up with rucks but the answer to that is they offer more than just a ruck role, Jackson especially.
We have the leagues best young ruckman in Darcy plus a second ruck that is far superior to any other second ruck when he’s playing that role but can also play as a midfielder, forward or as an outlet mark as we transition out of the backline.
Darcy is also better than average as a forward compared to most #1 rucks with a good mark and reliable set shot.
I’m definitely in the keep both camp which I think you’ll find the vast majority on here would be.

Fairly standard to have your best mid being one of your highest paid players, and Luke Jackson isn't paid that much

I'd want to keep Darcy. If he doesn't sign a new contract a just hope he finishes next year so that Knobel and Reidy are a bit more developed.

Given the departure of Hamling, one idea would be to develop Treacy as a utility/KPD.

As a kpf he needs to improve his marking but he has all the attributes of a kpd. He has the height, speed, kicking skills, tackling, etc to succeed.

That way we can go and get a Logan McDonald without feeling guilty.:)

Has all the tools to be a solid KPD
