Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

The pre season draft talk about Henry is borderline Nuffie stuff now.
It’s just not going to happen.
The clubs will agree a deal like they always do. Guaranteed.
Especially freo, we have always been a reasonable side to do business with.
We might end up with saints F2 and be death riding then again next year.
Though I see 6 FS players played in the u17 game at the weekend and several are first rounders. So next years draft won’t be much different to this year.

Why should we continue to be pushovers. We need to swing the pendulum. Enough is enough we need to start being more campaignery.

Hawks and North will throw us an offer of a pick inside the top 30 for Henry pretty quickly towards the end if St Kilda aren't offering anything above what will be pick 50 at best next year.

The Mitch Clark example is absolutely in play if they do.

The Freo.

It still happens occasionally. It might be say once every three years but it does happen.

Jackson hately
Jack Martin

Both gone to the PSD in the last 5 years

If only we were trading Jack Henry instead of Liam Henry

There's a red and yellow twisties pack, I would think it decides itself.

I prefer the "chicken" personally and went a bit hard on the cheezoes over the grand final so I would offer the Suns a pair of pajamas with Ethan Hughes's face all over them. Get those father sons underway.

Billings is apparently available from the Saints. I wonder would be look at a fresh start in Perth and a place on our wing to add a bit of class? We might be able to get him as part of the Henry deal and get better overall value for Henry.
Been big on giving him a shot for a while. Best case, power half forward /wing with a good kick.
Worst case, Fyfe's rehab buddy / solid body at Peel for a few years, capable depth.

Henry + Billings Salary > Pick 13 & Billings (with likely later stuff to pad it out).

The whole point of the PSD threat is not to go through with it (as we get nothing) but to make St kilda cough up something decent, we really just need Hawks or North to come out and say they’d pick him in heartbeat if he were to end up there. North can match literally any price tag Young puts on Henry’s head, so the jack Martin comparisons go out the window.

If the choice is between a pick in the mid fifties next year for Henry and Henry not getting to where he wants to because we don't pull our contract offer or consent to a trade I take option two.

The result is the same. Minus Henry, minus one pick at the end of the draft

David Walls pretty strong on Darcy staying.

Video is worth a watch, Wallsy always a little less media trained than Bell.

Basically, the goal is to use Henry and 22 to get pick 10 or 17 from GC

Additionally, contract offer to Hamling with no Veterans list (as confirmed on afl.com.au) means it is going to be very minimum picks at the draft

Assuming that they trade with dogs for pick 4 then?

I think that's a given at this stage. GC now after future picks for the players they are pushing out (like Hollands) means to me that that trade is basically locked in. I mean, no one is beating 10, 17 and a future 1st (of a bottom 8 side), that's insane value even with a 2nd going back
