Not really sure why we would pick Stanley since we seem to have a few players of that size and can play his position. I would have thought that Ryan/Buller/Hunter would have been a more immediate need and then maybe Stanley if he was still available later on.

Exactly, he is already at BH and so under our noses, we can assess if he has to get on our list at end of year. better to get 2 new talents based on our key needs in and assess list suitability.

I would go with one of Ryan Maric/Hunter/Hansen Jr or even Buller for our 1st pick

and then with 2nd pick take Tucker if he is available( seems to have nominated 18 months based on our promise) or Brandon Ryan. At end of season based on if Lynch's situation & their performance, they either get an extn or delist.

I simply cannot fathom how Luke Teal could go undrafted again. I’d love him at the hawks he’s tough and a great kick and we don’t have enough of those. On a wing and rotating mid IMO he’s a definite Morrison upgrade. Unfortunately it seems the cult figure Ziggy Toledo Glasman has fallen from favour…

He looks a likely type. I’d be happy to give him a shot if the club thinks he has some growth.
He was a key defender in his draft year, that was also playing ruck due to his leap.

From the Herald sun: Could this apprentice electrician provide an added spark to the Essendon forward line? The West Australian has had a horror run with injury in recent years, since originally being overlooked in his draft year in 2020. An elbow injury prematurely ended his 2021 season and he went on to rupture his ACL during a practice match at the start of last year, wiping out his entire 2022 campaign. But since he kicked four goals for Perth in the WAFL Reserves in Round 1 and has kicked 11 goals across the past three weeks in the seniors to really capture the attention of clubs. A five-goal haul against South Fremantle last weekend would have done his mid-season draft hopes no harm at all.

It seems the talent in there to go for the best available player with our first, and then to pick a serviceable Brooksby-esque mature backup ruckman with our second.

If the Hawks recruiters like him, I’m ready to get excited about Jaiden Hunter. He seems to fit every criteria for a good MSD selection: Has been overlooked due to injures and not talent (?), fits a positional need (KPF), is young and so fits the list build, and could (?) have great upside.
As a KPF, if he turns out to be an AFL quality player, then it would be a HUGE win for the balance of our list.

Stanley at 3 makes sense, we have to keep the Box Hill connection as strong as possible.

He’d almost certainly be gone by our second pick, which I’m not sure we’ll use.

I am not sure what it is but Stanley reminds me of Angelo Lekkas the way he plays?

Makes tonight’s picks even more important with the possibility of loosing draft picks. Not that it should happen but I don’t trust the AFL.

There is no possibility of losing draft picks. Just get that thought out of your head.

Excited by Brandon Ryan. Late developer, sweet skills, good contested mark and super mobile for his size at 200cm+. The only downside is his age (25) but if we see ourselves competing in 2-3 years that's perfectly acceptable.

Stanley is basically guaranteed at either Pick 3 or 13. I don't mind him, he's reasonably zippy and lowers his eyes.

The hidden one.

Strong intercept player both aerially and ground level.
Dual sidedness with good efficiency on both sides of his body.
Defensive/Forward
versatility.
We have committed to picking him up from very early in the season.

JMO.
Are we sure there isnt a Rule about hiding players we'd be violating?
