I thought he might've been out for a few weeks, if that's true then I'll trade someone else but definitely want to be on Hollands before price changes. Should stay in the team and with the way he finds the footy and runs out games he should avoid the subs vest and have a few spike scores.

Absolutely, trading any player can be justified if you can make it work so that it improves the rest of your team. Opportunity cost is obviously always a factor though. Knowing the best option is only evident in hindsight. I would argue that there really is no 'rule book' to playing SC. Obviously following basic principles when trading is a good idea, but to think that any trade is off limits only serves to narrow your vision.

That said, playing the %s is often a very good option, but its thinking outside the box with trading, at least occasionally, that can really set your team apart from the rest. So no, im not going to suggest to anyone that a trade is completely off limits, but it is a decision of what you can do to make your entire team better and to realise the opportunity cost that exists in every scenario.

I think it’s both outside the box and playing % to think of Laird after round 4. Could be cheapest he will be - not crazy unlikely to

He only had 72% TOG in the preseason match and still scored 97 (24 touches, 14 contested, 9 clearances) against a red hot Giants midfield

He had 88% TOG in round 1, looks like his tank has levelled up. 28 touches, 21 contested, 9 clearances, 8 tackles

At $482k, he's really tempting me. Obviously he has to be a keeper at that price, but why can't he be? 88% TOG playing against a tough Swans side, getting so much contested ball, is bloody impressive

Let's see how he goes today against the Dons. I got a feeling he's about to go big again

Try and find another $70k and get LDU or less for Green / Titch if you don't have them.

I really like the idea.
He worked hard over the break to improve his uncontested/easy possessions...
...which interestingly enough were really holding back his scoring.
He'll always get bulk tackles and contested ball, but (and I've forgotten the exact numbers here sorry), but he averages 100+ in games where he has over a certain (relatively low) number of uncontested.
