How accidental was ? McGovern's use of Goldy's face as a doormat ?
He's made a career out of clumsy actions so he will likely escape sanction.

I agree that it shouldn't be a suspension but it was not a good tackle because it was a free kick against both for push in the back (as awarded by the umpire) and dangerous tackle in that he drove his opponent's head into the ground with his arms pinned. Unlucky, but that's the rules.

Love it and then he hits a perfect kick
Yeah I could have sworn that if both arms were pinned and their head hits the turf then you're liable.Pinned arms , head rammed into turf - no case
Wasn’t there a statement that if there was contact to the head even if accidental it would be punished. Also the onus is on the tackler if the arms are pinned.
The AFL Make fools of themselves for not reinforcing their rules
Well, it was a good result, but I'm not sure a long bomb to Hurn and McGovern is the perfect kick, tbh.Love it and then he hits a perfect kick

Unfortunately yes, the commentator gene pool is very shallow. Is there a bigger ignoramus than Jonathan Brown in the football media?
Did he actually get him high in the end?
I thought it was more the whiplash and subsequent landing from the bump that did the damage?
Wow! It appeared that Ryder was running at the ball carrier but stopped and turned sideways (he did brace for contact). I guess there has been plenty said about paying the price if you elect to bump but a tackle was not an option in this situation (holding the man) and it would not have been appropriate for him to pull out and let the hewthorne bloke have a free run.Still seems more the whiplash more than anything.
