My Tongala Deep Throat tells me that he told WA at the very start of him being talked about that he was happy to go anywhere except Perth. So they have known all the way through that if selected he won’t stay. The last bit of sure I’ll go is just draft tampering window dressing. They may still pick him. Who knows. That’s from someone who plays with him.

It's basically our only hope^

Without considering incoming draft picks, it was the dishonesty from JHF camp that left us jaded.

As bad as it is, wouldn't you rather the kids be upfront about it?

Bit of footy karma to cancel out jhf would go alright here. 🙏

I thought Wardlaw and Sheezel were at least Karma enough to cancel out that, but happy for more to come our way.

We will get pick 1 in a trade from WC. Deal already agreed on.
If this is the case, you'd assume its 2 and the Port pick for 1 and some trash late picks for Sanders points. Then if we get Sanders access and pick 3 for Mckay as is anticipated we'd take:
  • Reid at 1
  • Mckerecher at 3 (we have alledgedly committed to keeping him and Sanders together) then
  • Match a bid on Sanders when it comes.

Sanders pre listed to apparently.

Reid, Watson, Sanders and arse the next Drew Petrie, Scott Thompson, Todd Goldstein and Nick Larkey with our later picks.

There is not a chance we're going to take Reid, McKercher and Sanders unless we're planning on trading out existing mids (i.e. Thomas, Phillips, Powell) for positions of need. Which is basically to say, not gonna happen.

Yes there is. Reid can play anywhere. I imagine they will be starting Mckercher outside of the centre square. Sanders is the only one that will require CBA. If our current midfielders get pushed out by Sanders or other players that come to the club, that's on them. It's not like we are currently dominating games with our current mid group.

Reid can play anywhere across the ground, I wouldn't pigeonhole him as a midfielder.
I don't get why people insist that we must take a key position player in the 1st round. They can be taken at later selections.
We could move future picks if we really need to get into the draft this year.
Now if we don't draft/trade one or two key position's in then you can lose your minds but nothing has happened yet.

McKercher on a wing, Sanders in the guts. Reid you could plonk as easily at half back as you could sit him in the goal square for a game.

It would be a long time before all three would be in the same line up anyway.
