Schoenmaker worth a spot for us in the KPD role?
What are the knocks against him? Too short, tank?

No good at defending. AllegedlySchoenmaker worth a spot for us in the KPD role?

Nah that pick 23 would get us green or Edward’s. sounding either be there at the later pick. Need a young ruck.

IF... we walk away with that haul,After looking through a few phantom drafts and power rankings, I really hope we don't go hard for a trade for Reid.
The draft shapes up as a perfect opportunity for us to pick best available at picks 2 & 3, then fill some list holes (namely KPP) with 15, 17 & 18.
IMO, if we walk away with the following from the draft we are huge winners.
2: McKercher
3: Duursma/Watson
15: Murphy
17: Edwards/Goad
18: A. Reid
2x elite prospects and a KPD + KPF + Ruck for the future, it just makes too much sense.
Hi DamoIF- there’s no news on North for some lame commentary to complete this,
THEN - I just recycle last week’s. And the week before. And the week before that.

He might be better suited as KPF ? Wouldn't be the first drafted defender that went on to play forward in AFL. A Naughton from the Braves would be the biggest of note.Yes. One of the most damaging kicks in the draft, and has high footy IQ. Tank and athleticism is pretty solid, but not elite.
Needs to improve his one on one defending and body positioning, but that's something can be developed quite easily at AFL level.
Accumulating the footy and being able to kick like him can't be taught.

Not a bad article in the sense that it inhabits a realistic planet, but I just can't see us using our F1 as part of the trade (or at least, I hope we don't)The impossible deal? Why it’s so hard to trade for Pick 1 — and what it’s really worth

don't get me wrong, I wasn't advocating anything, but the fox article is at least in a sane world saying it won't be 2 and 3'WC need to receive 'a free 1st rounder.'
If they are absolutely hell Bent on Reid, and noone allows us to trade our late picks up.
Then split 3 into 6 & 11.
But keep 6.
North: 1, 6, 15, 17, 18
WC : 2, 11, 23
Absolute worst case a swap of picks 18, and 23.
North : 1, 6, 15, 17, 23
WC : 2, 11, 18
Reid & Caddy/Osullivan/Curtin
vs
Mckercher & Duursma
Splitting 3 and then handing over 6 is in no way shape or form palatable for North.
one can hope and prayWould love If internally we had settled on our current draft hand. With an open mind to live trading- ie a club comes at us on the night offering their 20ish pick + F1 for #15 or something like that.
But externally we drive a narrative that we're desperate for Reid and completely **** with other clubs heads just to throw out their planning.
Getting one of these at our teens would be brilliant.Re-Posting a few of my extended write ups, just for people's information:
Joel Freijah 14/11/05 - GWV Rebels - 191cm - Midfielder/Wing - Tall, goal kicking midfielder, who offers a real point of difference with his height, power and running capacity. For the most part of this year Freijah has been stationed on a wing where he uses his running capacity and turn of speed to impact the play, especially forward of centre. Freijah is one of the cleanest players in this years draft, he rarely fumbles and is very clean below his knees. His kicking can be a little inconsistent but he is very capable of making low % risky kicks. Freijah links up well around the ground, and he loves to use his speed and long kicking to break the game open. While he hasn't spent a heap of time in the centre square, when he has had that opportunity he has had no issue finding the footy using his strength and body size to win clearances. At this stage he seems more at home on the outside but there is no doubt there is plenty of development to come with his inside game. At the championships he didn't have much of an impact, but he has been ultra consistent at NAB league level averaging 20 disposals, 4 marks and 2.5 tackles, as well as kicking 13 goals in 14 games. Considering his athletic traits and scope for improvement I think he'll be taken somewhere within the 12-20 range. Beyond that range he is going to offer incredible value.
Clay Hall 12/05/05 - Peel Thunder - 190cm - Midfielder/Wing - Tall midfielder, who offers a real point of difference with his height and running capacity combination. Hall is equally at home either inside or outside the contest. He is capable of winning the inside ball and bursting out of stoppages, but can also do it on the outside with his running capacity and link up play. When in space, he can hit some really nice kicks off his left foot, but when under pressure he does have a tendency to bomb it long. This is however, something that can be easily worked on. One aspect of his game that is a bit undersold is his defensive efforts. He is an excellent two-way runner and tackler, which a reason why is so good around the stoppages. He has had some fantastic games at WAFL senior level and was one of WA's most consistent performers at the championships, which resulted in him receiving All-Australian honours. From all accounts Hall is the ultimate professional, going above and beyond to try and improve his footy. Athletically, there aren't many question marks, he already has a well developed tank, has a little bit of pace, and excellent agility. At the championships he averaged 27 disposals per game and at WAFL senior level he has avg over 18 disposals per game. Considering all the above I think he'll be considered from pick 15 onwards, although man phantoms have him out beyond pick 30 which seems like a bargain to me.
Riley Hardeman 27/02/05 - Swan Districts- 188cm - Halfback - Composed intercepting defender who has good balance between attack and defence. His speed, positioning and long limbs allow him to impact defensively on a consistent basis. Hardeman is also a natural interceptor, he is a strong mark for his size and reads the play exceptionally well, combine that with a solid leap and you have all the hall marks of an elite intercept mark at AFL level. Athletically, he is a fantastic runner and covers the ground with ease, and he has an extra turn of foot too. It isn't game breaking pace, but it is enough that allows him to link up and be involved in possession chains. His composure imo is a real stand out feature in his game, he never looks rushed and often thinks his way through situations that allows his teammates to retain the ball up the ground. His disposal overall is very good. He has a nice left foot and he often kicks long while looking to take the game on. His short kicking is very solid. The only criticism I have here is that he can be a little bit one sided, and can sell himself into trouble trying to get onto his left side. One thing that isn't mentioned all that often is his leadership credentials, he has been in leadership groups all the way through juniors and captained the WA side this year. Over the course of the year he played at senior level in the WAFL (1 game), colts level, and was a mainstay in the WA side in the championships. His consistency at championship level earned him All Australian Under 18's honours. I'm very comfortable that there is a 200 game player there. At this stage, it looks as though he will fall somewhere between pick 12-25.
Nathan Philactides 10/01/05 - Oakleigh Chargers- 181cm - Halfback - Dashing defender who isn't afraid to take the game on with his run and carry. Philactides has some serious AFL qualities, particularly with his speed and ability to break the lines. Philactides has the ability to intercept, and often positions himself well to accumulate the ball and launch attacks from half back. At times, he can get caught out with his run and gun style, trying to take on too many opponents. From time to time he can also lack composure. His kicking (particularly at speed) can also be hit and miss. Technically, though, his kicking is solid and he is very capable of hitting low % longer kicks. Athletically, he has plenty of tools that will hold him in good stead at AFL level, he is quick, agile, has a solid leap and has the foundations of a good tank. All traits that will hold him in good stead as a half back or wingman. Defensively, he needs to work on his positioning and his one on one work, he too often relies on his closing speed to impact the contest. Over the course of the year he played at Coates League, the championships and also got some exposure at VFL level with Richmond. At all levels he showed glimpses of his natural talent. There were expectations that he may transition into the midfield this year, but he seemed far more comfortable in his normal role stationed across half back. At this stage, it looks as though he will fall somewhere between pick 15-30.
At Coates league level, he has played 9 games, avg'd 20.3 disposals, 2.4 marks and 1.5 tackles and 5 rebound 50's for the year. His best game came in round 8 against the Northern Knights where he finished with 34 disposals, 2 marks, 9 rebound 50's and 7 inside 50's.
It's amazing when someone from the AFL Media actually writes an article based on facts and common sense not hyperbole. Not a bad article in the sense that it inhabits a realistic planet, but I just can't see us using our F1 as part of the trade (or at least, I hope we don't)
