Surely the club cannot be contemplating giving pick 2 and 3 for 1.
Hopefully sensible heads prevail here.
I’m happy with our current picks. Though would be equally happy if we had 1, 3 and 11 as our draft hand this year.
That's not entirely silly. I was thinking how we could leverage into two early picks next year. Don't see WC leaping up the tale (or us unfortunately). Still leaves us Reid, 14 (15.....) and PP1 this year. Depends on how the recruiters see next years talent I suppose. The only way we give up 2 and 3 for 1 is if they give up their future first-rounder as well. I'd be prepared to throw in a future first PP to sweeten that deal.
Absolutely not.Is there any danger Curtin is a rich man's Sam Durdin?
The sub picks are a bonus. Picks 2 and 3 are literally a once in a generation opportunity. What we do with these two picks is everything. We nail these two and we are competing for 5 to 10 years
We aren't.Surely the club cannot be contemplating giving pick 2 and 3 for 1.

Having secured pick three as compensation for losing free agent Ben McKay to Essendon, North Melbourne have ruled out any prospect they would be prepared to hand over both picks two and three to West Coast to land the prized No.1 pick in this year’s national draft.
While the Kangaroos - who now hold picks 2, 3, 15 and 21 as well as a first round selection and two end of first round picks in the 2024 national draft - are still open to trying to secure the No.1 pick in this year’s draft they will not be giving away both picks 2 and 3 in an attempt to satisfy the Eagles according to an industry source familiar with the discussions who was not authorised to speak publicly.
It means the Kangaroos will, at least, take two of the top three picks into this year’s national draft.
No sliding. We take 2 and 3 to the draft or 1 and 3 if West Coast are willing to trade.Cal linking us to McKercher and Duursma with Curtain slipping to Melbourne potentially even GWS.
Would be worth trading down from 3 if we could snare Dees or Giants F1.
I like the idea of the pick we got for JHFF goes towards getting Reid.I still prefer McKercher and pick 14 than Reid. I just don't think there's that much difference between the two and i think McKercher's game suits our needs better.
I think he's in the mould of FWD/MID, what we thought Sheezel would be before his switch to half back. At first glance it appears we have a few of his type; FWD around 189ish centimeters. But we actually don't have many genuine goalkickers that can rotate through the midfield. What role will Duursma be at AFL level?
Feel free to disagree but you’re wrong.I disagree.
Both with the premise that 'basically every club' would rate McKercher and (especially) Duursma above Curtin/Watson, as well as the fact that trading down is how we should get those players.
Just strongly, strongly disagree.
Sheezel, Thomas and Zurhaar. But we actually don't have many genuine goalkickers that can rotate through the midfield.
Thomas would start mid I believe. Curtis no chance IMO he is playing mid, doesn't have the creativeness and fast thinking in the contest, his first option is always fend off.Sheezel, Thomas and Zurhaar.
Eventually Curtis, if he builds a tank.
How good would that be...I like the idea of the pick we got for JHFF goes towards getting Reid.
Pretty much Reid for JHFF.
Let the games begin.

Stephenson is another who is that fwd/mid type. We also drafted Brayden George last year, who is in that mid sized general forward category, similar to Duursma. As good as Duursma is, I think it would be a really poor selection for us considering who we currently have on our list and what areas we need to address. We’re void of high end young key position players and next years draft is very thin in that department - it’s a very midfield heavy draft in the first round at this stage. If we don’t address the key position areas in this draft, then it’s going to be a couple of years before we will likely be able to.Sheezel, Thomas and Zurhaar.
