The agility test like the 20m test can vary wildly from year to year.

The setup, whilst good, is hardly like the testing lab of the AIS.

It's also why some of the results vary widly between the NAB league testing and the combine.

Watson ran a 8.1 second agility in NAB League testing. He's probably the most agile prospect I've ever seen in person by the eye test. He turns players around for fun and can turn on a dime. He's also extremely quick over 10-15m.

He's easily more agile than Stephen Hill was and he held the record for a long time at 7.77.

You really just have to compare them to the other players testing under the same conditions.
How did this turn into another Watson post? From memory the last time he tested was pre season of 2021 when he was a bottom bottom ager.
Anyway u slice it 8.1 is not elite for someone of his size. Sub 8 is elite.
Having said this, contrary to hype of combine results from media the combine holds very little weight in selection. I have said it time and time again that the gps data is what the clubs go back to particularly when identifying needs and comparing kids. I’d love to know Collards top speed while playing that’s what’s more important for his role.

McKercher looks like the best mid in the draft. If West Coast want to prioritise that area of the ground and pick Colby regardless then it makes sense for them to trade with us for pick 2 and add other first round picks for free.

Agreed. Well said.

I reckon there is a chance wc go Mckercher at 1 if we don't trade for pick 1. Which we shouldn't imo.

If we have any sense, we at least trial Comben as a backman to try and keep him healthy. But I'd say that and the continued influx of medium forward types are independent events. Best talent available etc. etc

If we do draft Duursma, he better be ******* good. A list littered with gaps and we keep going after the same type of player. What good are eight talented mid/fwd hybrids when your best non-key lockdown defender is Luke McDonald? Sick to ******* death of it
We use pick 21 to bring in Jiath, 187cm prototype modern defender with pace and vertically. We use pick 19 on Archer Reid who I believe could be a natural in the backline or James Leake if he's available.

There's plenty of talent in these areas to fill up our back stocks. Picks 2, 3 should be reserved for guns that are going to put points on the board.

We've won **** all games for what seems a lifetime and supporters are asking "who's player X or Y going to replace?"

If there's ever been a blank canvas of a football team, with bugger all blokes deserving of the "lock " status it's NMFC circa 2024.

Bring in the best talent you can get your hands on and let selection fall as it may.

Jay Clark saying West Coast defnitiely going to take Reid. Tom Morris saying they won't take Reid with pick 1.

These blokes don't know their ass from their elbow.
or put another way, one will be right, and one will be wrong, so they have both sides of media street covered

I wouldnt give up pick 2 and 3 for 1

2x players is better than one imo. I know Reid is a star but maybe i have scars from the sooky flog JHF

I genuinely don't think I've seen a single NMFC fan on here overly enthusiastic about trading up for 1.

The overwhelming consensus seems to agree that sitting at 2 and 3 is the smart move.

Greenwood, Tucker, Shiels, Perez off HBF.

Four guys who barely played in 2023.

If we take midfielders at the pointy end of the draft we need to realise that it doesn't likely mean a guy like Shiels or Tucker loses a spot; it more accurately means a guy like Powell or Phillips.

And I for one am not ready to give up on their development yet. ESPECIALLY Phillips, who I still think is/can be a really special player.
