Crows must think we are a good chance to take him with one of our later first rounders. If Swans take Green with their first pick it might leave us with only Edwards as a ruck option. Wonder if we have had any links to him leading up to the draft?
Happy if it lands this way … after Read , Edwards looks the standout ruck in my eyes .

Full Thursfield interview was fine. Didn't think he was that cagey.

Did feel like McKercher/Duursma is the smart money, based on what he said.

If it's anything different on draft night, then credit to Thursfield for being elusive.

It is particularly funny to see the mental gymnastics from Weagles fans following this F1 for Curtin rumour.

A lot were more than keen to sink the boots in to him following the colts GF, in a weird vitriolic response to suggestions they were keen on him being a part of any trade for pick 1.

Now all of a sudden it's "brave" recruiting, targeting a player they rate super high. F***in lol.

I think they have forgotten why they have pick 1.

Yup.

For MONTHS they posted over and over again saying how they don't want or need Curtin, and that's why they didn't want to trade pick 1.

I for one will laugh my ass off if they trade their F1 for Curtin 😆

Clarko always refers to players needing to be good enough to be part of the next premiership side. Jackson might work hard, but I don't believe he has even close to the quality required to be in a premiership side. The year we took him in the draft we should have taken him as a rookie at best. None of the other 17 clubs would have given him even a millisecond of thought and we wouldn't have either if he wasn't the son of the Shinboner of the century. He has a big heart, but has only managed 8 games in two years in practically the worst backline in AFL history. He is below average in all stats. Unfortunately I really don't see a future for him with us.

Jacko might not be part of the next flag side, but part of the squad that year, and a key cog in the team that gets us there.

I can see him playing 100 games

I reckon Thursfield was really good and spoke impressively. As expected he wasnt giving much away but its obvious we have decided on picks 2 and 3 already and I think any Curtin talk might be just a last gasp effort to keep West Coast guessing what we are going to do .They clearly want both Reid and Curtin.

I thought it was ok too. Probably is pretty new to doing media.
The main thing I got out of it was it seems like they will go best available with all our 1st rounders.

He mentioned run and forward pressure are needs also along with key positions. Implying that we have so many needs picking best available will still fill needs.

Also, it seems like they are not happy with our forward mix and lack of forward pressure. Perhaps Collard is the key target there? Makes you wonder what are we going to do with all these medium forwards?

I watched WA a fair bit at the National Champs. Curtin's super athletic. He's also impressed playing forward at Colts level. You won't be disappointed if you draft him once you watch him play.w
I have seen him play, live once against Vic Metro, and full games multiple times on line.
Yep he is good, no doubt. But the Chad posting about him and then denying it is just too much.
