What sort of connection does that have to our side?
geelong in 2005 were a team on the rise (we stopped that rise)
they started 2006 with a developing team and high expectations, and blew up ... missed finals, coach thompson almost sacked
2007 premiers

we were the team on the rise last year, arguably overachieved making the gf
high expectations on us this year and things have continued to go wrong
next year we win the first of four straight premierships (there maybe some licence being taken with that last part ... but it's almost certainly accurate)

The uncompetiveness is the thing that worries me about this club.

Almost right, but I spoke to my psychic friend, it's actually 4 from the next 5

Very apt comparison actually.
And no licence taken at all, it's all but guaranteed😂

Yes agree but not the same circumstances nor the same opponent.
we've been better the past few weeks
and there are several obvious reasons for our overall disappointing season so far ... key injuries affected structure, confidence and cohesion had been smashed
we will continue to improve this season
and i am very enthusiastic about the next few years

Agree thought we started the improvement in the Brisbane game back to backing our skills through the middle and improved forward and midfield cohesion.

Just lacking firepower to beat the top 8 sides not surprising as Heeney and Franklin were 50 goal kickers in 2022 and Reid hasn't played a game.
