IMO the most underrated factor in St Kilda's 2-0 start is Jack Steele's return to form. Along with Touk Miller, Steele is the only mid who can seriously challenge Mills for the title of best two-way mid in the comp. He is so pivotal to the way they play, and he's probably 2/2 in BOGs so far. Easy to forget his AA season coincided with St Kilda finishing top 8 and winning a final.

And the most underrated factor in Freo being 0-2 is David Mundy's absence. Fyfe was always flashy and attracted the headlines. He never made Freo play well or win. Mundy was always far more influential in that regard, and I always thought Freo fans thought the same. Highlights can be replicated, but how do you replicate 25-30 ultra silky and effective touches? I guess we're finding out now.

Mundy’s retirement was always going to hurt Freo.

One of the most underrated players of the past 20 years.
He's either their greatest ever player, or their second greatest, behind Pavlich. Not a small loss by any means.

IMO the reason Collingwood look so good is their hand skills. Helps them spread from the contest so well and move the ball so effectively with run and carry.

You still need good kicks but hand skills are the new foot skills in the current game IMO.
And I would add that when we play that way we also look great. It’s those in between times, when we lose our confidence, that the opposition gets a run of goals.

IMO he's not even in that conversation. And I think deep down Freo fans themselves know that. The amount I have met/spoken to who prefer Mundy to Fyfe is actually massive. Over in the East the media etc. just don't get that.

its all subjective, I think you are miles off

Never worried about Mundy playing us, but again just opinion

Need to recruit two players who leave 110% on the field regardless of how the game is going

could be 0-4 going to perth to play freo

seasons basically done again

Harry Rowston looks very good for GWS.

like last week, i'm seeing only bit of the giants but the impression i get is that they think they're a much better team than they actually are ...
and looking at some of the names still there, they're barely clinging to the remnants of their "great" era ...
does jesse hogan contribute much? (i know he just kicked a goal)
coniglio seems barely a patch on what he looked like being, and the best of that was years ago
kelly, well, he's become one of the biggest disappointments of the past decade
toby is still a gun but he won't be carrying them very far ...
it's early days, yes, but geez ... being made to look like this by west coast ...

This feels like the way they have been for years

Got spooked into paying too much for too few players. You are right they do think they are trying to play like they are a top four team not a rebuilding team with some useful youngsters. New coach though so trying to find their feet. Peatling has done some nice things last few minutes.
