As the top comment says, that is literally what it was made out to be.

Also doesn't change the fact that extended sensory deprivation is a known torture technique, or that days of solitary confinement is used as punishment in prisons, and yet there are apparently people that want to do those things voluntarily and are willing to pay money to do so

Does this now vindicate the infamous Adelaide Crows camp?

I guess it ain't torture if you do it willingly.

I had to sit through Sleepless In Seattle at the theatre once...willingly yes, but motives were not honorable.

That’s a very easy accusation to make against Wilson. As to whether it has any basis who knows.
In some way I believe it. A multi-time All-Pro vs a 1000 year old head coach, naturally you would think the franchise would side with the talent.
Happy for Carroll that's it's played out in his favour.

Russ's office was on same floor as coach's all the other players lockers and such were on another floor.

He probably didn't storm in to the owners and say "I demand you fire Pete and co", probably something like "they're not using me to my full potential, there are other coaches that could"

Super lucky they saw what happened last year

ESPN's Dianna Russini reports Derek Carr is seeking $35 million per year in his next contract.

Though it sounds like a massive number for Carr's services, that would only make him the ninth highest-paid quarterback per year. For reference, he would be tied with Kirk Cousins in annual earnings and sit just ahead of Jared Goff if he gets his desired deal. Carr has already visited the Saints and Jets. The Titans and Panthers have also been linked to him, but no meetings have been reported on. Currently many millions over the salary cap, a $35 million per year deal would be hard for the Saints to accommodate. The Jets, on the other hand, are sitting just above the cap and can easily make some moves to create the room necessary for Carr.

Lions released DT Michael Brockers.

The move saves $10 million against the cap for Detroit while incurring a $4 million dead cap hit. A former first-round pick, Brockers had spent all nine years of his career with the Rams before being traded to the Lions in 2021. He appeared in 16 games during his first season with Detroit but was made a healthy scratch for much of the 2022 season. A strong locker room presence with over a decade of experience, Brockers should be able to land a one-year deal on the open market.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Giants QB Daniel Jones is asking for $45 million per year.

Jones switched agents ahead of free agency, a sign talks with the Giants aren't going as expected. The Giants hoped to keep Jones on a deal closer to $35 million, putting Jones slightly above the franchise tag, which is set at $32 million for 2023. $45 million annually would make Jones the sixth-highest paid quarterback but will be quickly passed with Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts up for extensions. The Giants have until the March 7 franchise tag deadline to extend Jones.

Lot of restructuring contracts going on, headlined by the Saints of course, masters of can kicking

Some notable contracts that cant be cut this year because of can kicking: Thomas aka always injured slant boi (26m guaranteed), Kamara (19m guaranteed), Taysom (23m guaranteed), Winston (11m guaranteed), Jordan (24m guaranteed)

Have already restructured Ramczyk, Mathieu, Maye, McCoy and Lutz, yet still ~ 30m over the cap. What a shambles of an organisation.

All that can kicking to try and score one last ring with Brees.

Ironically the only thing holding them back towards the end was Brees' arm.

Sean Payton is a disgrace, thank **** we didnt trade for that bum. Left the Saints high and dry with the mess he made 2 years into a 5 year extension when he realised it was all too hard.. Taste it Saints.

Luckily he got that big contract before the injury happened, decent pay day on the way out the door at least.

Dolphins CB Byron Jones revealed in a social media post that he "can't run or jump because of injuries sustained playing this game" nearly a year removed from Achilles surgery.

In a second post, Jones stated "it was an honor and privilege to play in the NFL but it came at a regrettable cost I did not foresee." He continued by expressing a note of caution to the incoming rookies before deleting the posts in under an hour. No official announcement has been made by Jones, his agent, or the Dolphins. Expect continued coverage throughout the offseason for the once-dominant corner, with all signs pointing to a release by Miami once the new league year begins.

Throw in no first rounder this year too. Horrible run team.

I forgot all about that. Who can blame me though what team in their right mind gives up a 1st for Peyton to coach them.

*Payton.

Doing my head in people spelling it Peyton like Manning is coaching them.
