Steele vs Miller vs Macrae

Steele is value - but, he has had an interrupted pre-season
Miller - not a value pick, and early bye
Macrae - too many WBDs with Bont (Mclean & possibly Bruce) already?

I've gone off Steele, too risky imo and can always try to pick him up later. Reckon there's better options around the 605-610k mark to pick from.

Macrae for me.

Thats the thing. Neither will be terrible picks but it’s more a strategy thing which makes it tough lol

I can see Touk having a few more down games as I think some teams will try and shut him down at all costs. If you keep him quiet you you are most the way there to beating goldcoast. Oliver is important to melbourne but not as much as miller is to goldcoast.

Lasy year Touk had 10 games where he scored under 110. Oliver only had 4.

Means you will probably have a chance to get touk for value at some stage during the year. The window to get a cheapish oliver will be much smaller.

That’s a good point, and a major one to consider

Sheed and a DEF rookie, Yeo and a MID rookie, or none of the above?

I’m thinking Salem for D4.
Your setup is quite similar to mine. Except you’ve gone with blue chips at d2-3 and I’ve got Young and Naicos.
Don't necessarily think Young and Naicos make the jump. Picking breakouts is the biggest risk in SC, but given their price I'll just trade them in if need be.

I've also had Salem, just think he ends up a rung below the highest averages.

Is it? Will Bowes even play?
Shirley he plays

He could have gone to several teams, there got to be some understanding of game time when he has chosen Geelong - that draft pick #7 was a decent carrot!

This is 100% correct the Cats chased Bowes so they have a role for him and it's not in the VFL

Ok so who taking lachie hunters role in their match aims?

Hunter played wing - rarely attended a CBA.

Mids will be
Bont
Macrae
Libba
Smith
Treloar

with cameo's from Daniel, Weightman, Garcia, West

the likes of Baker & Bedendo are being trialed on the wing, Hannan also. A possibility that Dale gets pushed up to a wing but I think it is more likely he stays back.

Yeah thanks.
I get that Hunter didn't attend many CBAs, but I wondering whether we should be concerned about the prospect of Crazy Bevo playing Macrae on a wing for extended periods this year.

Think Treloar and Bailey Sniff are both not in full training.

Combine that with Dunkley going out Macrae is a lock.

I really want to start Dale, very tempting.

Bevo was trying to rotate 6 players through the middle last year and Macrae's CBA's dropped about 10%. I'm not totally convinced he gets that 10% back this year with Dunks gone, but it is more likely than not.

He is. bit awkwardly priced though.

he only needs a small lift in % of kick-outs taken - which may happen if Helmet plays further up the ground + he still has natural improvement as he was always going to be a late developer.

only needs to lift his average 5 points to be well in the top 6 mix and a couple of extra kick-outs will do that

as he is not presenting any great value i'm happy to watch and see what Bevo has up his sleeve first.

Yeah he's close enough to the SP's to just pick them instead.

Will probably do the same, start a safer option and watch. Tempting though.

Little left field but is Libba an option? With Dunkley gone does he become the main extractor?

Could he go 110 this year?

the last 2 years Libba has played the first 4 or 5 rounds starting forward - how he got fwd status last year - he was then shifted back into the middle and would have been close to the highest % of CBA's from that point. so there is small upside if he plays full time mid from rd 1, which is likely with Treloar and Smith still being eased into training.

Don't think Dunks missing changes Libbas numbers though and can't see him being in the top 10 mids
