Excellent as usual
I am sure people who can't attend these training & match sims appreciate the photos.
It is a way of seeing what unfolded on the day via images.
I suggest people use the "toggle slideshow.". The small TV/Monitor icon top right. Not sure where it is on a smart phone
This gives you more of a feeling of being at the ground.

Big call, but is Will as good as Voss at the same age?
Well that's impossible to say. I'm thinking more in recent memory. Just my personal observation but I think he's at least as good as Walsh. I'm thinking better.

With Vossy we're going back 30 years. Of course before that Whitten and Kevin Murray stepped straight in as champs when still boys.

It's very difficult comparing players of different eras.

Are we starting to think Ashcroft will be our fourth mid behind Neale, Dunkley and McCluggage? The more I see and hear about him the more I think he should be. He’s just different kind of rookie even compared to the Walsh and Daicos of previous years. He’s probably not as suited to an outside role as those two but I think he’s a better pure mid than both. If he was a mix of rookie Walsh and rookie Rowell I would not be surprised which is crazy to think about.

Daicos was just as dominant last year.

Without boring people Bunton won the Brownlow in his first 2 years. I would think that's untoppable.

But the game is now so much more regulated, the players stronger and fitter, Professional and coached professionally. The way the game is played is unrecognisable from most of the earlier eras.

You can only really be fairly compared to the players of your era.

How would you think Ashcroft compares to Daicos , Britz ?

I only saw Ahcroft play a full game and looked at his highlights reel and he seemed to be at a totally different level to those around him.

Daicos was great on half back, but equally was unaccountable and often opponents would play off him and score.

I think Ashcroft has the potential to have a better season. He's not as good on the outside, but is elite on the inside while still being very good on the outside. Both players will be guns, but I'd rather a balanced mid with high quality leadership than a gun outside mid.

In his draft year, Daicos was just as dominant, and looked on a different level, but much more an outside player. He’s a better user of the ball than Ashcroft, and possibly a better decision maker with the ball.

Both Ashcroft and Daicos copped a lot of the same criticism in their draft year. Namely getting a lot of cheap balls outside and not being great at getting back defensively.

There were some games where Ashcroft was named best on ground, when I didn’t believe he was. Most notable for mine, was the final U18 game, Vic Metro v Vic Country. I thought Oliver Hollands had a much more impactful game.

Vic Metro v WA, Elijah Hewitt was the dominant player on the ground, but that was his only standout game for the Championships.

I remember when Voss joined the Bears, played half fwd flank, took some great marks, had about 8 shots at goal, missed the lot. Move fwd a few years and proves why the coaches had confidence in him.

As in VFL blokes?
Mr Ripper, do you or anyone else know who number 52 for the yellow/red team is.
Last year number 52 for the VFL team was Toby Triffett but i can't recall what he looks like.
I have noticed him (52) at training running and keeping up with our best runners.
In the Aspley game he looked like he had a run with role on McCluggage

Image number 4853, 5508 with possibly head on shots of 5790, 6148

Agree, he has shown plenty in his short career so far and really impressed me in the finals last season.
What I like about Dev is that he provides a point of difference to our team as he can play as a defensive midfielder where he can play either on the wing or inside midfielder. This provides us with a fabulous option of put him on the oppositions best midfielder and slow them down.

Just saw Lethal at the Aus Open taking the top off a Drumstick and scoffing it in seconds.

Obviously not intending to come back into training any time soon.
