I agree the trade could have been better but I also suspect we did the right thing by Meek a bit here which I'm OK with given he was a good soldier for us and like drxce said I also believe JOM will be a good get so a win-win is going to be the end result.
The thing with most young rucks is whoever drafts them commits to a significant low production development period, which is often followed by a move away for opportunity.

Swings and roundabouts for us with Jackson and Meek.

West saying Wilson suffered a finger injury from a boating accident in the off season lol. Alex Pearce left the training track early.... Our season depends on those skinny tasmanian legs..
There is always one freak injury during a Freo midsummer break. It is known.

Very surprised. Didn’t think distance was his thing, only explosive repeat sprints

Maybe he wants that wing spot

Great asset regardless for that half forward role he’s developed into

Said it before, but I’d like to see him rotate through the 3rd wing role and half forward, gives us the chance to play 3 talls (including Jackson) but keep all 4 smalls with Switowski and Frederick rotating through midfield and wing respectively.

This might be the key to fixing our forward line AND keeping our current best 22 on the park.

I had Freddy bookmarked for a wing from the start but he’s actually becoming a superb half forward which is one of the hardest specialist roles to play in modern football. Which makes me loathe to move him but I do like the idea of rotating him with a few others up & down.
There is merit too though to having full time wingers as it’s become such a crucial role now.
I think Brayshaw could excel & I have hope Chapman may be trialed there.

Frederick can be Brad Hill and just run all day. Solid mark and loves the width of Perth Stadium.
Can see it happening.. Corbett/Sturt plays half forward. Opens up

Think the ging lad we picked up in the draft might be going for the number 1 haircut in 18 months.
Yep!

Get in early imo before the casual supporter starts noticing.

Start with a number 2 with a scalp micropigmentation tattoo in the bald spots. After 12 months number 1 or 0..with the hair tattoo making up most the scalp. After hitting 25 just go full Wills and stop the tattooing.

No disrespect to the flying egg who I do remember seeing with a full mane of hair in his Geelong days, but the ging is much better looking and should be able pull off the Jean Luc Picard look in his mature years.

Another bonus was the future 4th rounder from the Hawks that was part of the trade turned into pick 42 used on Max Knobel. A potential replacement for Meek role in recent years.
Had forgotten about the origins of that pick. Knobel is a good prospect. Seems to have better ability as a forward than Meek. Draper and Knobel on the slow burn is a pretty nice low risk, high reward investment sitting in the account.

I'll be in Cockburn this morning so will swing through and have a look at training. I've never done it before so may be late or not in a good spot but will throw a few thoughts down if I get a look at them.

Personally I'm interested to have a look at Williams, Emmett, Knobel and Reidy but will obviously have a look at everyone else I can make out too. I will provide advanced info that I won't get back to type anything up until after 3pm so whatever scattered thoughts I do provide won't be up quickly. Apologies in advance for that.
