It's not about players in and out, more to do with system and finding the right blend
We have kept the faith in the same players the past month, it is time give some players a spell in the reserves, Curnow/Durdin/McGovern possibly Jack should be dropped, TDk Kemp Dow Binns deserve a opportunity if we are serious about rewarding performance.

In the weeks ahead I would really try some stuff. We won’t make finals olaying safe. And we will learn nothing.

I’d play Dom Akeui at half forward / back up ruck. He’s a long way from a finished product. He’s good in the ruck. He’s a lethal chase down player. Absolutely lethal. He would really shake shit up. Inject energy.

Personally I don’t think it’s well understood just how improtant that is. You want REAL front half pressure? Better than Beau Mcreeary? Pick Dom.

I’d also turn TDk from a nothing ruckman into the best centre half back other than Moore in the game.

Talent is on the list. Must try differnt things.

What I’d love to see on the weekend, some tactics that play to our players strengths:

In the back half get Boyd involved (kick the bloody pill to him) at every available moment, we want the ball in our best users hands as often as possible particularly in the back half.

Give Saad a handball receive target of 10, overlap run at all costs and back yourself Saady.

Pitto, whilst not a terrible kick, he ignored so many handball receive opportunities on the weekend whilst his opponents regularly gave pies players the dish off when they ran past with overlap run. Coach this out of him!

For goodness sake lads, lower your eyes and ideally hit up owies. Our best set shot.

Harry: I get he sometimes needs to play high, but also, please play him deep, even just a little bit!

And above all else, take the game on!

Tell me more. I know nothing about this bloke. Sounds intruiging.

It is at the SCG, even Cripps can kick 50m…!

More worried about Weiters on Buddy…..
Doesn’t matter where we play. Our connection from backs to mids and mids to forwards is woeful. Swans will apply plenty of pressure and that will make it even harder.

Going the other way they run hard spreading out so will put plenty of heat on our defenders who are also struggling. If buddy is switched on could get ugly.

He’s awfully raw. Not really ready. But I think making huge strides this year. He’s playing down back. He’s been forced to ruck on the off occasion and done better than expected. He’s easily the best athlete at the club. Incrdisbly fast and agile and huge leap. Can be quite fumbly and slow boot to ball. Can make shocking decisions.

But getting better all the time. Safe thing to do is play out the year in the vfl. But at his rate of progress I could see him really bringing somehting. I wouldn’t play him down back. I’d actually play him like a small forward. Deep. Brief is to trap the ball in. And play back up ruck (he’s very good at ground level after the bounce).

Just an intriguing prospect.

So basically a talented, multi faceted Mason Cox?

"Taylor Adams also said they were expecting a massive game from Carlton and were shocked by what they produced"

If there are the footy gods, I hope it makes it back to the club, makes sick reading that.

We've been a soft team for a decade now.

Thats concerning, couple that with Sidebottom's comments about him laughing at us because we kept kicking it to Charlie and Harry allowing Moore to pick the kick off is dead set embarrassing.

Exactly what I've been saying all day....mentally frail and our players don't turn up for the fight. Oppo players know we're soft. Not coach related

Was going to say have u been watching him? 😂 U have & listed his faults well, it’s way to far out of the box for them to do, but it’s definitely a creative idea 👍

As soon as I heard Doc say a 5 day turn around will be hard for him..knowing the mental frailty of this group I changed my tip to Sydney. Sums us up...all the s**t getting thrown at us our leaders are throwing up these inspiring comments. Way to pump up the group. But yep voss' fault
Yep. It’s a terrible mentality and culture. It’s ingrained and just set. Horrible to see and listen too

I'm pissed off. We waited 9 months for this rematch and we didn't even show up. Colliwobbles laughed at us.

I don't understand the players and I didn't understand the selection. How do you have JSOS going up against Cox / Cameron. Ed Curnow was useless.

I think it's just a job for a few of them.

They completely nullified our ball movement out of d50 in the preseason and we're looking like premiership fancys for mine early on and then the mccartins went down and Geelong thumped them into oblivion and they have raised the white flag since.

Whoever loses can kiss goodbye to their finals chances for the year but it really comes down to has something started to click for either side in their last few games that will inspire them to get back to their best this week.

Fwiw Ed Curnow is in the side because he is one of the few who can run 15km a game the same as.cottrell they are both in to cover Cripps, Kennedy, Hewitts lack of running imo.

I didn't hear the comment but wouldn't that be more to do with his own injury prevention routine since the 2x cancer and 2x ACL?
