with cotts, ollie, acres & walsh we have 4 extreme gut runners capable of going all day long...........
Binns will add himself into that group at some stage in the next 12 months also.

All footballers first too.

The issue with that is the assumption of winning those 3.

In that model we start round 23 basically equal with GC and playing away. We then start round 24 behind GWS on the ladder and beat them to take 7th.

How are we going to go in back to back 8 point games, including travelling? I donxt think we can pencil them in

But win vs Coll or Melb and then beat St Kilda and it totally changes those last two - we start clearly ahead of both and probably play a lot looser imo

My post before that was in reply to a poster who said we need to win one of the Collingwood or Melbourne games to make finals. My post was simply showing that we don't and what's more we wouldn't need results to fall our way if we were to win just those three.

The reality is we need to win 3 of the last 5 to be a lock.

Love Dow, but it’s great to see Hewett back to his best, we need him . He plays before Dow. The more good players we have pushing , the better.
I agree I would play Hewett before Dow as long as one of Cripps, Cerra or Kennedy are out injured however I don’t like the mix of those three and Hewett in the same side, I think it makes us very slow and I hated seeing Cerra and Kennedy spending time at halfback. If all our midfield is fit (which will never happen) I would have them both out of the team but feel Dow makes for a better sub than Hewett.

Dow played a Dow game, good in stoppage and congestion, occasionally poor disposal, average to poor defensive running, took his goal well.

Was really hoping he'd seize the opportunity but just got a pass for mine.

Started a post on the subject, but I think this branedotorg effort sums it up.

Someone defending Dow earlier stated he compares favourably to other clubs 6th/7th rated mid rotation, that sums it up nicely too.

I reckon he had earnt a chance for an extended crack back when we were in middle of our run of shit form, didn’t get a sustained opportunity - will be elsewhere next year - not losing sleep over it.

What a legend, tearing down a young kid when we try to pump him up. He played well today. His clearance work was great, and he has improved his decision making and ball use.

I don't mean you, I'm talking about you know who
Get berated for questioning a senior coach whose been around.. but it’s okay to berate a kid… look through posting history and hypocrisy is rife.

he's a grown man and 24 in october - gee, I've been harsh on him - I think I suggested he's not a clearance machine - what a brutal critic I turned out to be :straining: when will I ever just quit bagging our players?
