Walsh was really hitting his best form in terms of his pace and drive out of the stoppage in recent weeks.
I feel like it might upset the balance a little around stoppages?
Who do we think replaces this?
Do we play cunners a little more on ball?
Or do we just more frequently rotate cunners/doc/mots through the middle.
You can't overuse Davey C I reckon.

Am I the only one who thinks Pitto is a valuable in? What do we expect with McKay and SOS unavailable and Martin still on the edge?

Pitto rucks. TDK pushes up ground and helps stretch Collingwood's backline.
TDK rucks. Pitto more often on the bench.

Young doesn't strike me as much of a forward right now. So this is the next best option.

Everyone makes it out like we can shop with ease at the fashion capital on a limited budget. For us, it remains the bare essentials and maintaining preferred structure to the best of our abilitiy. We are not the pies who are spoilt for choice two games clear on top with almost practically a clean bill of health.

I just assumed with him being test and after the presser when voss said all the guys injured who should come in will , I assumed owies was part of that inclusion
The article I read intimated that he would be in the reserves assuming that Martin and Motlop both play. You couldn't rule out a late change or 2 though.

The article said that Cerra, Cripps, Martin and Pittonet come in for Walsh, Silvagni, Honey and Dow. Mightn't be too far off the mark

Yep, agree. TDK up forward makes Murphy more accountable and gives Charlie more space.

Pitto in is great given our injuries.

Young is not a forward. TDK is no Mckay or even JSOS up forward but hopefully can impact and make it harder for their defenders to take intercept marks and double team Charlie.

We needed the Pitto and TDK ruck combo for Cameron and Cox imo.

Have to agree and with the sub we can always take off Pitt in the second half if we feel we need an extra runner.

Time will tell TJ, hopefully you and the MC will be proven right on Pitt. Look Young has been poor in defence this year, lacking confidence and looking unsure of himself. Since he has had to shoulder some ruck load, he has done okay. Has played up forward before, is a reliable mark and is quick for a big guy. Compare that to Pitt, who is lumbering, cannot get off the ground and does stuff all in general play.
No doubt Pitt is a ripping fella, hope he plays a blinder.
Go Blues.

Dow.

Crippa, Cerra, Hewy , Dochs and Dow a formidable mid field.

If you were to add Walsh and Kennedy it is as good, if not better than any. ( SIGH)

I agree it could be good giving Jessie a bit of time in there too.

What I hope for tomorrow night -
TDK really embraces the Harry McKay role and plays it well - working between the arcs
Pitto rucks, when he needs a rest TDK goes in and Pitto to bench
We use our brains and keep the footy away from Moore. If he goes to Charlie, make him accountable up the field and use Charlies I50 kicking to our advantage.
Lower our eyes going inside 50, no bombs to 1 on 1's as that is where Moore and Howe come off their man to be 3rd man up and either kill the contest to their ground level players or take the intercept mark.
Small forwards bring the pressure on guys like Quaynor and Noble.

Biggest one for me is TDK accepting the role we need of him. He NEEDS to be a forward presence when Pitto is in the ruck.

I can't wait to see how we go. I've done a tonne of complaining over my time about our club, but the fact is I love it and I just want to see us competitive week in week out.

Go Blues

I think TDK needs to play the Jack SOS role not the Harry role. I dont see Harry as a huge out personally he's a frustrating player that quite often lets the team down. I'm actually in agreement with Hutchy, he is not worth $1,000,000 per annum either in ability or mental strength. Lets' trade him.

No way!

Before he hurt himself against Port, he'd had 2 goals and 19 disposals and 3 goals and 20 disposals. Both games with 8 marks.

He was just starting to turn the corner. For me it seems there was a bit of a power struggle between Charlie and Harry (not outwardly but in terms of who gets targeted or needs to do what role) and coincidentally Harry started kicking goals and playing better footy when the whole club decided to be about doing whatever is needed on any given day.

This is the big reason I want to see how TDK goes in Harry's place. We all know he wants to be the #1 ruck, but right now we need him to help fill a void and I'm interested to see how invested he is into a role he doesn't necessarily want to be doing but needs to for the good of the team.

Harry is a fantastic player no doubt, but not $1,000,000 fantastic.

Keen to see what TDK can do.
