What I hope for tomorrow night -
TDK really embraces the Harry McKay role and plays it well - working between the arcs
Pitto rucks, when he needs a rest TDK goes in and Pitto to bench
We use our brains and keep the footy away from Moore. If he goes to Charlie, make him accountable up the field and use Charlies I50 kicking to our advantage.
Lower our eyes going inside 50, no bombs to 1 on 1's as that is where Moore and Howe come off their man to be 3rd man up and either kill the contest to their ground level players or take the intercept mark.
Small forwards bring the pressure on guys like Quaynor and Noble.

Biggest one for me is TDK accepting the role we need of him. He NEEDS to be a forward presence when Pitto is in the ruck.

I can't wait to see how we go. I've done a tonne of complaining over my time about our club, but the fact is I love it and I just want to see us competitive week in week out.

Go Blues
It kick it in dirty, i.e. along the ground. Just tumble the ball in and let our smalls get to work.

I really don't think he can be.

Cox will get a couple tomorrow night, I really don't think Pitto is capable of that.
Pittonet's job is to give our mids first use of the ball in the middle, beat Cameron and maybe hurt a few of their midfielders. Maybe even hurt Cox if he rucks against him.

That's what he'll be judged on.

Let's be realistic.
If we get within 8 goals i'll be impressed.
This is one time where we can genuinely use injuries as an excuse.
It would be our greatest win of all time if we manage to pull it off.
They won't beat us by 8. Half that if they're lucky - if we're off. Injuries or not, with our recent form I reckon we can still push them all the way.

There has been a lot of discussion around not playing into Collingwood's hands with bombing long and allowing Moore + Howe to intercept very easily. It was interesting to see Port's approach last weekend of lowering their eyes and kicking a lot lower which meant there was a leading target hit or it either fell short and Port's ground players got to work.

One thing which got highlighted on either First Crack or On the Couch after our game against Port was how we managed to draw Allir Allir up the field, change the angle and cut back through the corridor and then get a marking shot before Allir got back inside 50.

We'll definitely need to use similar tactics tomorrow night to try give ourselves the best chance of winning

It was good vision from behind the goals.. they showed that on first crack as well after the Port Game. Alir had to be accountable for Charlie, the difference between Alir & Moore is that Moore will let Charlie go get touches on the wing & stay inside/around the 50 so he can track back. very rarely leaves unless the ball's right up the ground.

Sanderson said something on SEN makes sense - says you must go through Moore opponent kicking it in low not bombs and make him accountable ..
These great footy minds just see things no one else can, don't they? Got a bloke that can mark the ball well? Kick it in lower, seems so obvious once you say it like that.

Genuine question, not baiting….

I reckon you need 15 goals to beat us.
I’m gonna give Curnow five. Where do you see the other 10 coming from?

Curnow - 5

Hewett - 1

That’s 30. Not sure where your 31 are coming from though.

Journo asked Voss about preparing for Collingwood and he said "I don't think we should be mesmerised by that. We should just get on with what we've got to do."

That's been his approach to coaching throughout his time at Carlton. Never appears overly concerned about planning for the opposition. Has cost us a lot of wins. Unless we're really focused and have a very specific plan for nullifying Moore / Howe in particular we've got a big problem.

I think it's a case of 'in Voss we trust'. Not many coaches manage to pull themselves out of a rut like that. I think Mikael Arteta did it twice at Arsenal and now he's proving himself to be a superb manager. I think it's a good sign.

Yes very disappointing fan engagement, he really should be telling us all his plans for the opposition.

Okay to give you a straight answer.

I think 6 of the 10 can come from our forwards ie Motlop, Owies, TDK, Cunningham et al

The other 4 from our mids like Cerra and Cripps who have been scoring of late.

Once again, it's all about kicking straight makes all the difference. Funny about that.

Not sure Charlie will kick 5 with lots of attention on him. I hope he does.
Will have to be a mighty spread of goal kickers.

See the Power match. We kicked plenty of goals. Unfortunately no Jack Silvagni this time.

More concerned about stopping that little pissant Elliott.

We have won the last 5 , kicked under 15 goals once (14) and curnow has only kicked over 3 goals once , last week .. it will be a spread and hopefully someone bobs up like the previous 4 weeks , we are good if we bring our A game

Doubt we need to kick 15. Most games teams have brought it against Collingwood they've capped out at about 80. We've got an outstanding defense at the moment and if the pressure up field remains as quality as it's been recently can easily see this as a 10-12 goal each kind of game. Closer to Melbourne pies the other week than anything else
