Really can't see it happening. As intriguing as Hawks have looked in the past 4 weeks, Dees are a class above. I suppose the same would've been said about Pies too though.
I can't see it happening either.

But boy would it make some drama for the final round if it did

Potential Round 23 Team

B: Cincotta, Weitering, Newman
HB: Fisher, Kemp, Saad
C: Acres, Cripps, Cottrell
HF: Fogarty, TDK, Martin
F: McKay, C.Curnow, Owies
R: Pittonet, Hewett, Dow
IC: Cunners, Marchbank, Hollands, Motlop
Sub: Boyd

In: McKay
Out: Docherty (Cork)

I can't see the MC not selecting McKay if ready as he'll need a couple of matches under his belt if he's to fire in finals. The Blues pressure has been through the roof over the last month and McKay will be expected to provide his share. SOS probably comes back through the 2s.

Not sure the fitness staff will risk Doc unless his calf is at 100% and I've put Boyd as the sub should extra foot speed be required later in the game.

The real selection challenges will come the following week when Cerra, Kennedy, Walsh, Doc and potentially McGovern become available. I suspect Chugga to come back via the VFL given how much footy he's missed and Gov will have to tick every box twice given his hammies can be more aware than he is. It'll be a nice problem to have for a change.

Cant see JSOS coming in... He'd be 3rd in line for the ruck spot...

Out: Docherty (inj?)/Hollands (unlucky) & Curnow
In: McKay

FB: Weitering - Kemp - Newman
HB: Saad - Marchbank - Cincotta

C: Acres - Cripps - Cottrell
FOL: Pittonet - Dow - Hewett

HF: Motlop - De Koning - Martin
FF: Fogarty - McKay - Curnow

B: Fisher - Cuningham - Owies - Docherty/Hollands
SUB: Docherty/Hollands

It's to late this year, but you'd hope they'd train McKay to be second ruck next year...

Give the injured players like McKay another week off. Don't make them catch the plane to Queensland.

In: E.Curnow
Out: Docherty (inj.)

B: Cincotta--------------Marcbank---------------Newman

H: Kemp-----------------Weitering----------------Saad

C: Acres------------------Cripps-----------------Hollands

H: Martin----------------C.Curnow--------------Cuningham

F: Owies-----------------De Koning---------------Motlop

Foll: Pittonet, Dow, Hewett

Bench: Fisher, E.Curnow, Cottrell, Fogarty

Sub: Honey

Intriguing the Levi-Holman Cup is being played at 2.10pm...........on a Saturday..........in winter..............this some weird Queensland thing?
Certainly a much more civilised timeslot than next week's Thornton-O'hAilpin-Jaksch-Whiley-Plowman-Phillips-Lamb-Sumner-Kennedy-Palmer-Marchbank-Pickett-Setterfield Plate, that's for sure

(knew I couldn't get it right in one go)

I agree, they could hardly score against us. How are they going to get past James Sicily.

We went into the Dees game without Walsh, Cerra, Kennedy, McKay, Guv and JSOS.

5 of those 6 are walk up best 22 every day of the week, arguably all 6.

2 of our 3 best mids. Both top 10-15 mids in the AFL.

And we still won.

Hawks are undoubtedly a chance.

No Fritsch or Petty up forward, Brown unlikely (but irrelevant), McDonald one game back in the 2s...... will the Dees rest any players?

If you listen to Voss’s press conference from last week, Melbourne tried to lock the game down to beat us. Yes, they got a low score. But they would have expected that. I’d be surprised if they played the same way against Hawthorn.

A recent example is St Kilda, who went very defensive against us, but we’re far more free wheeling against the Hawks.

Anyway, to return the focus to us. We’ve just got to do what we can do, and see what else happens to play out. Let’s wrap up this finals’ spot against the Suns. Go Blues!

Because the Hawks aren't going to lay almost 90 tackles and apply manic pressure all over the ground.

I have been a nervous nelly about our form this entire run (and generally, for over 20 years). But I'm starting to believe that the result v Dees was an indication of how good we are, not that our opponent was undermanned/flat/bad etc. Dees would have beat every team in the league last week bar us.

Yep.
They'll be on the smashing path.
Hope Hawks take it up to them.

Oh the TO'hJWPPLSKPMPS Plate? it's a modern classic

No. Hawthorn are just going to chip it around and deny Melbourne the ball.

I think a lot of people here are forgetting how well JSOS was going when he hurt his knee.

For mine him replacing Pitto is an easy selection.

And of course, Harry , even easier.

Whoever out will be very unlucky .

Pitto/TDK/JSOS is the most interesting team selection issue. While the majority of our best 23 is easy, it feels there’s an even split on this board as to our best talls setup. Have really been enjoying the discussion on this.
