He even discussed it in his pressa…

Got his lead and said they could have kept going but decided to lick it down for the last 10 minutes, unbelievable how he just changes gears and the team can stop the flow of goals…

Thank god he did or it could have been a 6 goal loss…
Please.
Lyon has never been short of ego and if you believe his bullshit you're as dumb as a Collingwood supporter.

We deliver the ball into F50 in a reasonable manner we are 5 goals clear of these losers and it would be Ross the Boss crying in front of our 'wall'.

To be fair, rule 1 of Ross' gameplan is park the bus.

Rule 2 Don't ever un-park the bus. or don't drive the bus? idk one of those.

Rule 3 don't even hire a bus driver to drive the players to the ground from the hotel.

He's the AFLs version of Jose Mourinho just without the trophies.
The new bus he has is super smooth, it slips thru traffic & the new auto park feature works a treat.
Scary how stable it is thru the mid & rear end, by the time we kicked the first pass to switch it was already parked & waiting to collect the ball.
At the pace we were playing, the bus was as offering refreshments/had the seats reclined & was offering commentary on the scenery & where they would go next.

Lyon is pure genius. Take a look at the score worm after they kicked their last goal for a 20 point lead. Dead flat. Neither team was able to score. He got his lead and then made it impossible for any decent score to be kicked.
Absolute tosh.

That's on us, not on him.

We didn't even try (to take the game on) in the 4th....

Was very very smart, 5 day break so no good reason to tax his players & invite injury in the last 10.

But we didn’t and I used to think the same thing about being a 5 goal better side blah blah but we’re NOT!

We have too many passengers which Ross HATES, we have too many FRONT runners which Ross hates, we drink our own bath water weekly and probably check instagram every other day for likes, Ross hates that too…

For the record, I was in favor of getting Ross as our team needed to learn to defend, god knows we can kick goals when needed. I’m happy with Voss but not happy he hasn’t got out the sledge hammer and sorted a few of the pretenders in our club…

There's no doubting or denying what Lyon has achieved so far with one of the more putrid lists in the comp. And riddled with injury.

We are an utter embarrassment and I think we have ****ed the build. This list can't win a premiership. Too many perennially injured players means we're carrying too many losers week to week. Can't have Fisher, LOB, Curnow, Young, SOS, Honey, in our side if we're serious and Cowan has shown a lot but clearly isn't up to the leve right now.

100% agreement, but I would move Young forward and have TDK as a defender.

I agree about Cowan too. He's had a taste. I'd have him in the VFL for the rest of the season for development and have him back only as injury cover.

So I have been crossing the Nullabor.

Did we lose by not taking our chances, by being a mess going forward, by losing the middle or through too many passengers?

The midfield group responded after being poor last week. We absolutely dominated the first half but had less than a goal lead at the half. A slap in the face reminder of most of how last year transpired.

All the other usual issues popped up again.
  • Slow ball movement
  • Slow switching of the play only to face the same issue on the other wing
  • Zero desire to take the game on (even when down 3 goals with 10 mins to go)
  • Long bomb and hope kicks into the forward 50 and not to our forwards advantage (either not high enough for forwards to run and jump or to the oppositions advantage. I swear we picked out defenders more than our own)
  • Poor forward craft (dumb leading patterns, smalls not at the fall of the ball)
  • Inability to tackle and trap the ball in the forward 50 (made even more staggering that we can't lock it in when we long bomb to contests)
  • No short hit-up passes into the forward 50
  • Stupid snaps from long distance instead of a standard set shot, missing from the goal square.
Think that about covers it

It's funny that Harry is actually supposedly super intelligent (off the field). Reminds me a bit of Will Minson who was mensa-esque just pulled out many a brain fart on the field, like our Harry.

He's amazing when he doesn't have to think as much beyond the forward 50, in taking marks, crashing packs, making space and weaving. But once his mind realises he's in the F50 zone and that little man tells him it's now going to be his responsibility to get the 6 points....

Imagine if kicking around the corner was a thing when richo was playing

I nearly jumped the fence when Harry marked 25m from goal.
He then passes the ball onto Hewett and Hewett then passes to Jack.

Jack misses & scores a behind.

Have a shot at goal Harry ffs.

I was furious!
one of his brain fades for the night unfortunately. Yep, furious. Big tick to his 14 marks though…

Owies is the most limited of our small forwards but seems to be the only one with any nous about being front & centre, making space or positioning plus he’s a good kick.

Thought we might have made a play for Bobby Hill but club must see something in Motlop/Durdin that I don’t ?

There were a lot of brain fades by various individual Carlton players yesterday but I’d be remiss in singling any out.

The possession numbers are incredibly deceiving.
Guess which heatmap is ours?

We had 13 metres gained per possession vs the Saints 17. Despite having the ball 90 times less they got 270m further up the ground.

We ****ed around with the ball they didn't. That's the game right there.

I think this is the heat map you’re looking for:
