Played very good. If Murphy played that game people would pick holes all through it but he was still easily our best imo. Cottrell had a crack, everyone else were horrible.
I know it’s not the popular thing to say but the selectors have been vindicated not picking Honey and LOB this week and Carroll will need a string together a fair few good games to get called up because he was invisible yesterday after a blinder last week. Kemp needs a lot of time imo. Probably played 3 games against men in his life so a fair way off atm.

LOB easily the most disappointing. I keep cutting him slack thinking his game will translate better at AFL level but I’m really not sure anymore. If it’s not dished up to him on a silver platter he is useless and the problem is in big games and finals that doesn’t happen.
LOB has until the end of next season - when his contract expires - to sort himself out, and we have until then to work with him to see if he'll amount to something.

I've been a fan, but whether via poor reserves midfields depriving outside players of opportunity, a lack of KPP preventing ground balls, or simply not going when it's his turn, he's not showing adequate performance. Without him belting the door down, he's not coming in and nor should he.

If Ramsay can get 28, LOB should be able to get 20 at least. He's not that outside; he's not Boekhurst.

14 Carlton listed players + 5 others who have been in the AFL system.

This team is stacked. Really excited to see what they can do in 2023, to build on what was a pretty good season last year all things considered.

As always, the senior team injury list impacts heavily on the VFL group, so I'm hoping to see this group get wins on the board early in the season.

Agreed - I can't remember seeing a Carlton 2nds team looking that strong in years - if not ever. Still 7 to come back.

Anyone know if it's free entry for members?
Clubs' VFL section on the website looks all at sea:

Defence is arguably 5 medium defenders, 1 genuine tall and an undersized tall... would be wary of that dependent on the defensive system and how we pressure through the middle of the ground. Add another medium defender if Kemp plays there too.

But yes, lots of capability and experience.

You may need to amend that - Sam Durdin and Liam McMahon both 198cm defenders....although with Pitto dropping out, and Mirk/O'Keefe likely sharing the ruck duties, McMahon may be used as the second tall forward alongside Lem - with Tyreece taking on the second KPD role alongside Nigel.

I'm hoping they bring Moschetti in though - he's been really good in all of the scratch matches - absolute livewire in the midfield.

McMahon would be lucky to be 90 kgs, that was my point. I'm also counting Lieu and not Kemp. Hopefully Kemp and Akieu aren't used there too much, because it's going to be a tricky time when the ball hits the deck.

Would prefer Kemp be in midfield, especially when our options are Dow, Carroll, and Maher.

Might be Kemp's chance to impress as a part time mid?
There a bit short on genuine mids.

Not sure why some are so obsessed with throwing Kemp around in different positions.

You can disagree with him being deployed as a defender, but what he needs is continuity - in both game time, and role.
I think Kemp is a better 3rd KPF/HF then defender.
Might be more senior opportunities for him also.(depending on Gov's body)
