This isn't quite right. Reeves has won 56% of hit outs from ruck contests.

Ryan is sitting at 52% which is quite good, but relatively low HOA %. I imagine most of his 48 ruck contests have been against 2nd rucks or in F50 stoppages?

For reference with HOA % - Nank 28, Darcy 29, Grundy 28, Gawn 30, Marshall 32, Witts 33, Cameron 35, Goldy 37, English 37, Flynn 39

Did I miss something but doesn’t seem much buzz for Samson Ryan?

Surely sees more ruck time with Nank out and Solololodo still a few weeks away?

I think a lot, including me, assumed he was a typical raw tall player getting a game for height at this stage of his career.

Having seen that hitout stat, will probably pivot from JVR to Samson now

People have to realise Ryan is young and while tall is pretty skinny and not very strong. The bigger ruckman are going to outmuscle him pretty easily.

I started him in round 1, and i think he is still good value, but temper your expectations.

Exactly this and he is in the team as a forward not No1 Ruck

I think the hope is that being around the ball generally means pts, either via tackles or some hitouts or just more touches. If Miller is first ruck as is likely the case with the stronger body then Ryan could be spending a bunch of time against second rucks. Plus some semi useful cover for the rucks until Cameron gets back for better protection. His JS is solid for at least 6 weeks you would think.

JVR will make money quickly but could be out next week or the week after when Gawn is back

It's complicated attempting to foresee how he's going to score.

We may go with Miller as the #1 ruck and play Ryan mostly in Lynch's role - a role which he may well be playing on a wet deck again this week.

If he gets the #1 ruck, or a dry day up forward he could easily have a big spike. If he plays FF in the wet over and over, he'll more than likely keep scoring as he is.

On the plus side, awesome JS.

Corey Warner Bros.
Sam Sturt .

Both at rookie priced in this week .

See how they go after 2 I reckon.

JL huge ******* ******* when it comes to team selection. Sturt could kick 3 and get dropped for not tackling enough.

Yep I'm saying quick trade the Kent's in.

But we need new cows soon .

Huge cheer went up at Essendon training today. I’d say either a Voss or Montgomerie debut, Voss the more likely but Montgomerie would be better from an SC perspective.

What's Tylar Young's job security look like? I might be forced to bring him in this week to fund other trades, unless I want to take a speculative punt on someone like Cincotta or Fahey.

Tarrant out indefinitely and Gibcus still listed as medium term. I think he'll stick around, even when Broad returns.
