Iván Soldo as a short term Grundy off-ramp?
Christ, that it's come to this says it all.

I have heard that Nank could only be a couple of weeks away but not sure how true that is. Soldo dosen't have a great Supercoach record but most of his games have been as the second ruck and he did look ok yesterday and was on limited minutes only played 57% TOG.
If you do get him he should be No1 ruck for a few weeks but don't expect great scores or to make much cash.

3 boosts left and 26 trades left, do I focus on ****ing off dead rookies for shit rookies who will play or try and get as many off as I can? They're all shit anyway

Coming around to Petracca more and more over Stewart (inj/rest/tag risk), Cripps (bad bye), Parish (seemingly lower ceiling), Walsh (bad bye/outside role)/Laird (injury cloud/low TOG).

Couple of easy kills with GC and Hawthorn next two, then Port who he has a good record against, so should hopefully rise in price substantially. Best case scenario, he punches out some 130s, gets nice and expensive, then gets forward eligibility when he's out of a lot of people's price range.

Of course, the main concern is that he hasn't had a stinker for the year yet, which would undo that strategy fairly quick if it comes over the next few weeks.

On his side though is that he's only missed one game since debuting (114 consecutive at the moment). Feel like durability is massive this year with the injury carnage and rookie shit show.

Setters - has to go
Poo - has to go
Michelangelo - has to go

We have Cincotta. Who else? Simpson, but JS shaky apparently. Who else? Even if we have to go a week early.
Hate to spend the $$ but are more expensive options like Dylan Williams (198k) worth a look? Has JS and still making some coin.

What's his chance of DPP? Even at his worse he's top 6 FWD.

Not sure where it's at currently, but only attended 41% CBAs for his 167 on the weekend. Tends to have low CBA games against bad teams as Melbourne rotate more guys through (43% against WC earlier in the year). With GC and Hawthorn next two, imagine he spends a good chunk forward again, so it's definitely a chance

I don't reckon. Ziebell actually throws his body around and tries to win lose balls. He could lose kick-ins, but aside from that, I think he's OK.

I think we just have to ride him until he breaks. If he does get thrown forward one game, let's hope Clarko tells us before hand, otherwise just boot him the following week.

Hold until it dies.

Hall is an embarrassment and should dropped.

Couldn't have been better said from even a North supporter

I think the safe play for me might be
Davey > Cincotta
Setters > Cogs
Rowell or Steele the less vanilla options.

could also boost for a premo mid but the ones I’m missing are Laird, Neale, Libba, and Tracc and I’m not really in love with any of them.
…an injury free Laird would be straight in.

If it was the possibility of a spike game this week that attracted you, yep, 100+ is on the cards against WCE, but we're nursing him back, so there's a chance of not much increase on his 57% TOG this week unless he really bounced out of the weekend's game - the worry is if he's come up sore we may even use him equally sparingly.

Also on the negative side, there's a not insignificant risk he could tweak something again, plus as A Bit Dusty said, short term there is the chance Nank could be back and when the two play Soldo rarely gets much more than 60% TOG.

However, on the positive side, I'd say 80 would be his floor you could reasonably expect and he could easily avg ~100 until Nank is back if he had a healthy ton this week. I imagine we'll be all out attack to get a win this week, so he'll get every opportunity to get the hit-outs to advantage and sneaky snags which can take him to a big score.

Overall, definitiely a risk, but if things went right (I'd rate it 50/50) and he did get 3-4 games with that ~100 avg, he'd be exactly what I presume you're after and at worst, as long as he plays he'll certainly make you a little cash at his current price.

Perhaps most important of all, he's a ton of fun to watch closely, frequent flashbacks of the 70's...a fine thing to grab a brew and look forward to over the next few weekends as the cold weather sets in, starting with the Beast V Bailey... ;)

Finally feeling confident about a trade:

OUT: Phillips, Cowan, Setterfield
IN: Simpson, Cincotta, Oliver

Two dead rookies and Setters for two fresh cows and a Piggy.

Got my core of SPs now, time to build around that and start thinking about some PODs.

Note the donuts on every line for ultimate looping potential this week, makes the bench look better lolz

My only hesitation is I could get Cripps this week while his BE/price is low, and then go Hopper and Jones to Oliver next week while Oliver could still lose a little more cash..

Bringing in Piggy this week just feels all kinds of right though...

The only thing worse than 7 weeks without the pig is 8 weeks without the pig. Get him in.

Blues have some tough midfields coming up before the bye.
