Also went to a hospital where people could obviously spot him very quickly. Normally clubs would try do this behind closed doors if they were informed first.
Player gets hurt, contact club doctor, club doctor organises private treatment.

Player gets hurt, goes alone to public ER, spotted by public before club knows what happened.

He did something dodgy.

Night one at Max Gawn's place went well....

Time for us to swoop in....

In hindsight, once we were linked to Haynes and pick 7 it was obvious that Petty wasn’t trying to get out of Melbourne this year. Gives Melbourne a year to try find a replacement or convince him to extend.

I do wonder if Melbourne put him up for trade if they find out he’s broken their trust literal days after backing him in. Interesting few days to end trade period coming up I reckon.

Oliver reading the Brad Crouch playbook? Do something stupid during silly season to screw your current club over?

I am new here and have a question. Does anyone on the thread have knowledge about recovery from linsfranc injuries?
It seems to me to be the new Osteitis pubis. My point is Paying upwards of 700k pa for a swingman with this kind of injury cloud a wise move?

Couple of hours in the hyberbaric chamber normally fixes them.

We've been linked to Hayne? Kinda makes sense as a stop gap while Murray is injured.

A minor lisfranc might only be 6 weeks. If surgery is required it is usually 4 - 12 months. Some players never recover to AFL fitness.

Zac Taylor did one early in the season and didn’t play again this year. Chayce Jones had surgery and could return early next season or miss the whole season. There is no indication that Petty had surgery but who knows with the Dees.

His injury was described by Melbourne as significant. He required surgery

On Petty, expect a bidding war with the Power, who have been heavily courting him for a while now. He also grew up a Port fan. I’d be stockpiling picks for next year regardless.
