Essendon VFLW Senior Coach Travis Cloke delves into each AFLW-listed player's performance

Georgia Clarke

20 disposals, six tackles, one goal

Played another great game for the club, played forward and back continuing to be a utility for our side. She brings an extremely good aerial presence and while we dominated the first half possession wise we moved her forward, which resulted in a goal.

Danielle Marshall

Eight disposals, three marks, one tackle

Played down back, extremely good in defence and one on one contests. Continued her good form from the AFLW season. She is a great leader on field and brought a lot of experience to our back six.

Sophie Van De Heuvel

Nine disposals, two marks, four inside 50s

Fantastic run off of half back and was involved in multiple scoring chains. Low disposals but didn't let that quell her influence on the game. Showed great one on one ability.

Stephanie Wales

17 disposals, three marks, 19 hit outs

Played mainly ruck and ran a lot of kilometres regardless of low game time. She was good in contested and uncontested situations. She is continuing to put in a body of work for her second AFLW season and is showing a lot of promise.

Amber Clarke

12 disposals, three marks, two tackles

her fourth game for us and is starting to find her feet. We are really challenging her to keep using her speed to break lines. We want her to keep improving in working both ways with her running power.

Joanne Doonan

18 disposals, 15 handballs, eight tackles

A contested machine, she was very strong in the contest and was great at extracting the ball to our outside runners.

Ash Van Loon

15 disposals, one mark, five tackles

Solid as a rock down back, we are really encouraging her to grow in her offensive game. She is still learning how to best use her skills in the uncontested space but so far has shown massive improvement in this area.
