Tom McCartin looks in good knick

Has very good footy sense from what I am seeing today…
Looks like he is getting a run on the inside at some of these stoppages too which I have been hoping for. He is decent sized body too.

Looking good, best of our 22 draftees at this point.

McCartin oooks good and the small sample of Arnold I like, Mitchell has been really impressive as well. Poor kicking cost us that quarter. Corey Warner a much more penetrating kick this year. Some good signs….. forward 50 entries are a club issue…. connection between kids and forwards very scratchy

It has driven me mad since Ling that we keep drafting smaller "best available" bodies like Rankin, Konstanty and Vickery. Even Rowbottom and Warner aren't that big. 2014 GF is burnt into my brain being bullied like 2022.
Mitchell is a decent size with skills and a good attitude and shows signs that he should make it. At least this MS suggests we might be learning.

You can imagine these two down back being regulars in the ones come next year. Francis is good depth, and that's important to have, but I don't think he's a LT solution due to mobility. Melican....was pretty much encouraged to leave last year, be interesting to see what happens with him, do they offer him a deal, does he want to stay knowing the coach didn't want him...I bet if he gets an offer somewhere he will take it. Though his best chance of regular football will be here so....

Don't know about anyone else, but when Buller missed that shot I actually shouted out loud "He missed!!!!??"

Agree with everyone else Mitchell looking the part.
He's been the best of our draftees throughout this season.

I'd like to see Magor moved up the field next half.
He generally makes good decisions and that inside 50 ball could do with a bit of help.

Gemma in the commentary is I think Gemma Bastiani who writes analytical articles for AFL.com.au.
Like her articles and the commentary duo today.

Mitchell and Magor both had some good moments.

Of our toppies, Nic Shipley is working his way into it while Harry Morrison has left his kicking boots at home. None try harder than Bartholomeuz but he must be one of the more untidy players in the comp. The rest really struggle though Ethan Grace dobbed a great goal.

Shout out to McAndrew who is trying his guts out. Am a little disappointed in his palming but was happy to see him attempt a big knock forward.

Looked a bit like a game of Hot Potato rather than system based tbh - but it ended well with a free man on the end of it.
I dunno, each guy found the free Swan as he was supposed to. That's literally all you need for a handball chain to work.

(That, and the basic ability to catch and handball, though these should be non-negotiables for any AFL player.)

Stretch needs to be on the move a little when going for the ball up ? Just standing there in a wrestle rarely get him a good palm down to anyone in particular and doesn't use his height advantage much.
