I wouldn't be surprised to see the Eagles draft McKercher if they had 2, there's no go-home factor if they have that as a concern. The Curtin links seem to me to be "media see WA kid, media link WA kid".
I would think that too but there's been alot of direct and secondary comment from West Coast about Curtin.

List boss linked Reid and Curtin together saying they're both highly rated by the club.

I've assumed WC would only trade down from 1 if they can get 2. I dunno for sure that that's the case, but it seems logical.

If we can turn 2 and 3 into McKercher, Watson and O'Sullivan, that's a ripper result as far as I'm concerned.

There in lies the problem with all the Reid to GoDees WC will want 2 and that will then land them McKercher, they will be working on Curtin sliding a bit and will no doubt get a middle R1 pick to do so.

So we cough up 2 to the Coast to help Dees get Reid and walk away with no McKercher, not a sound idea..

Surely we have a go at Oliver? Jy would have to be in Clarko's ear
Well hasn't been mentioned here, but I wouldn't be surprised if Viney is in Jy's ear just to be sure he is on the straight and narrow. Quite a few on here mentioned the type of company TT was keeping can't rub off well.

Melbourne has hit Clayton Oliver with an ultimatum – shape up or ship off.

Fed-up Demons officials have told their troubled midfielder that they need a commitment from him that he will once again conform to the standards and expectations the club demands.

They have made a series of demands to Oliver that include the need to treat club staff with respect, teammates with respect, prepare the way he should and to turn up to training in the proper condition.

It can be revealed that Melbourne’s reluctance to squash the frenzied trade talk surrounding the 26-year-old is exclusively due to its exasperation with Oliver’s increasingly erratic behaviour.

Oliver is said to have lost his way at times during a campaign interrupted by injury, but his behaviour since the Dees’ straight-sets finals demise has concerned many at club headquarters.

Sources with an intimate knowledge of the rocky Oliver-Demons relationship described this as football’s version of an intervention rather than a push to the exit door.

Equally, Oliver had made clear his dissatisfaction with his club to various sections of the AFL industry.

It’s this ill-will that that has seen rival clubs smell blood in the water and some even confident of pulling off an enormous trade coup.

In recent days, however, Oliver has shown a willingness to return to the fold. He has put his hand up to say that his living arrangements and social lifestyle hasn’t been befitting of an AFL player.

Max Gawn has also opened the door of his home to Oliver, who has recently moved in with the captain and his family.

Insiders said Melbourne was making no apologies for setting the standards they believe are critical to success in professional sport.

Demons officials have been eager to support, nurture and even protect Oliver as he navigated some challenges this year and in many cases they have done so on external advice.

But Oliver’s downward spiral has forced the club to take a harder stance and it’s that stance that has set the trade period alight.

It’s a stance that rekindles memories of Dustin Martin touring the GWS facilities in 2013, Steve Johnson doing the same at Collingwood in 2006 and even Jordan De Goey last year coming close to joining St Kilda.

Melbourne categorically do not want to trade Oliver, a four-time best and fairest winner and a triple All-Australian with a lucrative seven-year contract in place, unless he makes it impossible to be retained.

Oliver has not told Melbourne he wants to be traded.

AND that’s why we shouldn’t be anywhere near this shit storm…

The pile on over TT was bad enough, imagine if we took this goose and they both ****ed up, the media would lynch the club (mind you so would the supporters)…

"... with Oliver’s increasingly erratic behaviour."

Journo code for 'the boy is on the pipe day and night, he hasn't slept since August'.

The Eagles will absolutely draft Reid if they are holding pick 1.

I’ll be extremely surprised if they don’t.

I’d rather McKercher, Sanders/Watson and a shot at GCS first pick than selling the farm for pick 1.

Despite all the hot air I can’t see Clarry leaving Melbourne.

Reading this I most definitely wouldn't even touch him with a barge pole. He sounds like a farking idiot who gets under everyone's skin. It also reads like he will commit to the Dees, at least for next year, so he shouldn't be a consideration for anyone this trade period.

No way he's leaving. Living with Gawn, he will meet with the club and all will be smoothed out once he agrees he has been acting out and promises to do better. I feel like I've seen this movie before with Martin and De Goey.

Hell I'd even bet this lights a fire under his ass and the bond will be stronger with the Dee's moving forward. Probably premiers in 2024.

Won’t be traded is my read into that, just a classic kick in the pants, on your last warning type thing.

I would think that too but there's been alot of direct and secondary comment from West Coast about Curtin.

That's only because those interviewing him only mention those two players, can only answer the questions put in front of you.

And Tarryn.

Exactly what i was thinking. If the bipolar thing is true then Melbourne supports him and gets him feeling reasonably happy in himself he'll pay that back onfield.

Duursma for pick 20 is highway robbery.

He will be delisted at the end of his next contract.

He's statistically in the worst 10 midfielders in the league this year to play over 10 games.

Mrs Gawn must be a tolerant lady. One child under 2, 6 months pregnant with a second on the way and letting her husband's drug addled party-boy workmate move in. Would love to have heard how that conversation went down.

With McKay exit announced tomorrow, why aren’t we linked to any key defenders?

If comben is moving back, why aren’t we going all in for key forwards?

Puzzling list management. All for adding run and carry however we have the worst talls in the comp by a distance and that is with Logue Healthy, which he is not.

Just because the media doesn't know.... doesn't mean we aren't....
