mmm, well I'm not sure the circumstances surrounding Maj influence the point I'm making - Brad Scott was allowed a second attempt at a "top up" strategy, which - with Polec, Hall, Pittard and Tyson - was a whole lot less successful than the first iteration (with Waite, del Santo, Higgins).

From a governance point of view, I'm always 'once bitten, twice shy', and a strong board would have gone with a fresh face and a different, draft-based approach

Anyway, doesn't matter now - as you say, we are where we are
The 1st top ups were all FA. The 2nd top ups cost us getting in before TT's bid in a super draft.

* should not let Scotts anywhere near list management.

He was taken pick 1 and he has not disappointed. Pick 2 wouldn't get it done.
Completely understand that, I just would not be comfortable with using Pick 2 when we could look to package something else together... (not that I'm sure with what we could offer that would satisfy them)
I don't think Doggies would ask for anything other than 3 Picks but given they are getting Croft and adding him to Darcy, Naughton etc I just think hes more gettable
