Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Go to footywire, search the last 10 drafts and look at picks 2,3,15,17,18.

2014 the stand out, but overall it shows you why we need to keep top picks and if we can move to 1 by bundling 2 and a combo of 15,17&18…we should do it.

That sounds like hard work.. can’t you just post them here?..
Using DraftGuru stats and taking it from 1992 when PP's were introduced, these are the averages:
PickAv GamesAv GoalsTotal AATotal Prem
1181122114
2156124128
31519979
411710877
5144112117
15964214
17904545
18854925

I've included Premiership as everyone loves to find how many premiership players a pick has produced but l think this is misleading as you all know, premierships are won by the whole team.
A better guage is All Australian (AA)

IMO, certainly in the last 5-10 years, the No.1 pick is more about the best player that the club needs and not always the best player in the draft class. Added to that, F/S and academy picks maybe the clear top prospect but are tied.

WC is doing the right thing now. Sitting back and letting Dees and Dawks see if they can package an offer to force an auction.

Given WC will do this regardless, North is doing the right thing sitting back and letting Dees and Dawks punch themselves out and then forcing WC to name their price. I expect not much action until the last couple of days of trade period.

This has the potential to continue right up to draft night

My solution was lets give up 3 and our f1 instead.
Yeah I get it...but, that's pretty much the same as 2 AND 3 this year, or could be worse.

I'll be blown away if we aren't bottom 3 next year.

Our future first is worth the equivalent of pick 2 or 3. That's crazy IMO. An unproven 18 year old, regardless of how good, is not worth picks 2 and 3.

We can offer picks 56 and 64.
And the opportunity to play with his brother..
Port can use that capital to move up the draft board if they’re creative.

100%

West Coast will come back to us before they potentially make a deal with the Dees or Hawks, so best to sit back and see what we are up against.

To your point there is no need for us to set the price.

Our leverage will be with Picks 2 and 3 and if there is a target they are super keen to get at one of those picks? Conversely if they think Curtin will slide to a pick they can get from the Dees or Hawks we lose a lot of that leverage and then it becomes an old fashioned slugfest if we want to involve ourselves.

Four goal improvement nets us at least eight wins next year.

But all those 3 ways involve us giving up 2 AND 3.....makes me really uncomfortable....don't wanna do that
Is there a scenario in which:

Nth end up with 1 & 2
WCE end up with 6, 11 & 15
Melb end up with 3

On the proviso that WCE can grab Curtin at 6.

In my scenario we get back 6 as well which is also a nice pick.

So we shouldn’t bring in blokes that get dropped or can’t get picked in the senior team at another club?

Genuine question, did you watch him this year?

He was awful. Slow, beaten often by his man, disappeared frequently. When he’s not hitting the scoreboard he’s not exactly busting his ass around the ground. I’d rather we play Larkey with medium talls than bring in Gunston.

Absolutely.

I'd prefer Gunston than Darling.
Clarko: Jack, wann come to North to teach the lads proper leading patterns l like?
Jack: Yeah, Clarko l'd love to do that, will l be on the rookie list?
Clarko: You let me worry about that with Toddy, you interested!?
Jack: Yep, all in, do you reckon Pags could organise me a house around Nth Melb until we find a new joint?
Clarko: Yeah, Denis will help ya out, so we good?
Jack: Yep!
Clarko: Ok.
Clarko rings Fagan: Fages, Clarko mate, Jack wants to come back, 82 enough?
Fagan: Oohh could you make 65, we've got young Levi coming in next year and may need the points?
Clarko: Shouldn't be a problem, 65 it is for Jack?
Fagan: Yeah thats great, mate
Clarko: Narh thank you and give me regards to Urs will ya!
Fagan: Ok, see ya.

Yeah, we would never ever bring in a player or two that got dropped or couldn‘t get picked in the senior team at another club.

Draft Night.

1. Nth. Reid.
2. GCS. Match bid. Walter.
3. Nth. McKercher.
4. Melb. Watson.
5. Hawks. Duursma.
6. Dogs. Sanders.
7. WCE. Curtin
